When I had to book flights, car rentals, and hotels at my last job, I did anything I could to just do it straight through the Delta or Hilton apps. Trying to use Concur was a nightmare. I could be done in a couple minutes and it isn't like I don't already have the corporate codes added to the respective apps. Saves the same amount of money and cuts out the shitty "travel agency". As a millennial, the more I can do on my phone in the least amount of time the better. There are always exceptions, but booking travel is something I would rather do on my phone.
No thanks. I will stick to my torx and hex, and they better be in metric.
Don't use over or undersized screwdrivers, especially on smaller electronics.
Stop torquing while you are still ahead.
Be especially careful if the metals are soft.
Keep your driver perpendicular. Better drivers can make this easier.
Better to back out the screw and try again if it isn't going in smooth on something threaded. Check for debris and burrs. If you need to apply more pressure, do so carefully.
I have found that for small stuff, getting nicer drivers makes a huge difference.
Penta-lobes for some of the small electronics are funny I guess, but they don't bother me as long as I have a bit for it. Main thing is to understand why some of these different shapes exist.
That blows. Hopefully your nerves don't get too inflamed or it is in a spot that is easier to ice for a short period. I hate icing anything, but it was between that and continuing to scream bloody murder and cry in my car in the office parking lot. Only needed maybe 10 minutes and it was thankfully my hand/arm.
The first study I did they poked around the back of my neck and shoulders. I am sure you and everyone else is cringing right now. They put me in the fetal position and told me to be very very still... It worked out.
Have a gummy, vape a bowl, and keep your spirits up the best you can. Maybe do some art. Adult coloring books are the shit if you never thought about that.
As someone who has had a multitude of health problems, I am so glad that you are getting help. I have EoE, which really sucks, but I can't imagine not eating at all. I had a condition finally diagnosed a couple months ago after years of being told nothing was wrong with me, which is better than being told it is probably in my head. I have chronic pain too, but it is "manageable". Short version is I lost the genetic lottery, but I keep trucking along.
Also, lamotrigine gang stand up!
Definitely try Soylent (powder) as you can thin it out as much as you need to. I haven't had the premade versions in forever, so I don't remember. Worth a shot.
As far as traveling goes, try to find a coffee shop or something to chill at for a few hours, though the smell may be too much now that I think of it. That really blows that the Internet is awful there and I have had to resort to tethering in the past. I have Google Fi, so tethering is dead simple and just works, but yada yada Google is evil. Once upon a time you could only make WiFi hotspots on your phone if the actual WiFi is turned off, but I don't know shit about iPhones.
Sorry about the nerve study, but make sure you ice afterwards. The pain doesn't always set in right away. Had a rather agonizing drive home once...Make sure to speak up if it hurts a lot, or just feels...wrong. Ask for breaks if you need it. Nerve pain is something else.
I am so jealous. Those assholes will not run it to my apartment. Landlord tried. The entire neighborhood behind and next to us has it. I am just done and fed up with Spectrum. Maybe I should call and bitch.
Upstate New York or maybe Michigan. Just not Buffalo. That is some snow hell at times. As for driving in snow in general? It really isn't that bad and I moved up here from the South. Just buy good quality tires, or if you are really paranoid, snow tires. I have always regretted my life decisions when I got shitty whatever the crooked mechanics had on sale tires. I have never needed chains in the areas I live in. You cannot be any worse than every other idiot in snow. Promise. You will be fine.
Not to mention that you have to prepare and store it in an entirely different area. Otherwise you have to completely scrub the same area to try and prevent cross contamination and probably special air filtration systems to keep flour out of the air. I had a coworker tell me she got anaphylaxis once over an apple getting small amounts of flour on it. It is almost better to get pre-made from another company where it comes sealed and serve it that way.
I feel for people with severe food allergies. I thankfully only have a severe cat allergy, but I had a friend with a soy allergy. He refused to eat out as most employees either don't know, will have to spend 10+ minutes trying to read every single label, or will misunderstand and say it doesn't anyways. If we were cooking for him, we could at least check or show him all of the ingredients beforehand.
I will take a look at it, but the fundamental issue is it screws with the iommu groups too and then I have to go fix that in proxmox. If I can at least guarantee a network connection then I can remote in and fix it in the event something goes really wrong.
Thank you! I didn't really understand what drivers did in the whole scheme of things and it makes me appreciate what these engineers do. Now to go down another rabbit hole of videos.
I just got an Arc recently after not having any kind of PC build for over a decade. Still figuring out all of the things I want to do with it, but I haven't had any complaints with performance on the couple things I tried. Looking forward to spending more time with the hardware and watching more videos!
So they are across the street from each other right? Do people from the other company end up at the same lunch places? Maybe ask somebody who works there what it is really like. Either way, never stop looking. More money is more money, especially at that end of the pay scale.
I am really bad at just making shit up and it never occurs to me to lie. I can consciously withhold things, but my default is far too honest. However, do I have the ability to lie? Definitely. If I need to, there is some emotionless place I go to mentally and I just lie. That's it. Just lie.
It is only the nvme drives that do it. That damn PCI busses and iommu groups get renumbered every damn time I remove or add one. The SATA is safe though.
I have a hatred for the enp id thing as it isn't any better for me. It changes on me every time I add/remove a hard drive or enable/disable the WiFi card in the BIOS. For someone who is building up a server and making changes to it, this becomes a real pain. What happens if a drive dies? Do I have to change the network config yet again over this?
Put your foot down, establish boundaries, and take a well deserved vacation with 0 communication to work while on it. Otherwise, I would start looking somewhere else. Your health is more important.
Edit: Also, hit them a few times with your Wabbajack for me.
