What are some of the 'best' Lemmy apps for Android?

  • Infinity is the best Reddit client I've ever tried, and I will say the same for the Lemmy fork. I have deleted everything else but Sync and Infinity.

  • LineageOS doesn't claim to be Degoogled, and it isn't so I think it would be an improvement, but a small one. It would remove the trackers your OEM has built into stock but that's about it. It's still phoning home to Google.

  • Eh. I wouldn't hold that against them. Reddit or Lemmy is just social media. Just one small aspect in people's lives. Pretty hard to care about something like Reddit taking away API access when you've got much more important things like a job, a social life and a family to care for. Even harder when you only use the official apps.

  • Samsung is probably the worst offender in that regard. No bootloader unlock on Snapdragon, bootloader unlock trips Knox on Exynos and disables basic features like the camera on Z Fold 3.

  • I have never used stock Xiaomi software for more than the time it took to unlock the bootloader. The custom ROMs for my devices were jank as fuck too. I will never buy from Xiaomi again. Only Pixel and GrapheneOS from now on.
