  • Words really can't describe how weird it seems that you feel the need to create and moderate communities for every US presidential candidate.

You do not seem even remotely engaged enough politically to moderate ONE electoral candidate's group, let alone every single one, even across party lines.

Are you trying to set the stage for astroturfing? Do you have a fetish for the negative attention this is bringing you? Or is it some weird control issue? Either way, this is all sus as fuck ...

  • I don't have an answer for you, but I feel your struggles. I also live in an extremely remote rural area and have to deal with certain issues that any of my urban friends would find appalling...

I wish you much luck in finding the most humane and kind way to dealing with your situation. 🙏

  • Moving to Portland was when I realized it was actually S.A.D. and not just being miserable from the harsh winter weather I grew up with.

My first winter in P-town was amazing - there wasn't any snow or sub-freezing temps! My 2nd winter there I was cripplingly depressed from the lack of sun...

  • Like clockwork, every year. Usually happens 2 or 3 weeks both before and after the winter solstice.

I try to make sure I'm getting plenty of vitamin D. And I try to make sure I'm getting outside for a bit everyday. Exercise helps a lot too - anything that'll get your blood flowing and heart pumping.

I also make a rule for myself that I'm not allowed to make any big decisions or big commitments during that time of year because the depression can cloud my judgement. Not making commitments is hard with the holidays tho, so if I have to I also leave myself a way out of them if needed. I've become an expert at giving a "definite maybe" in response to commitments lol

  • I have a family member who's active in the MMA scene, who also happens to be rather naive and easily misled. These kinds of stories worry me...

  • Who's the person that does really elaborate videos to this song every year? I used to see their posts show up on reddit all the time, but I can't remember who now

  • In my early 20's, broke-ass hippie-ish acidhead days, my friends and I made it thru several 12hr long trips without money for smokes by just tricking our brains. We would take straws or broken pencils or whathaveyou, just to hold in our hands while we were frying. IT. FUCKING. WORKED. Every time.

At my age now, and the baggage I hold onto, getting psychedelic is less appealing than it was back then. But it's not hard to use that headspace to flip switches in your brain. Especially if you're going into it with that intention.

  • My pépère found out he had COPD at 70something, while smoking almost 3 packs a day of GPC's.

He quit cold-turkey just to spite everyone who said he couldn't.

  • Stay on that wagon!! I'm going on 25 years of a pack a day....

I've "quit" a few times during that, and all it took was for me to convince myself that a "puff or two won't hurt" which turns into "a cigarette or two won't hurt"

Before you know it all that hard work is down the drain...

  • I need to print this out in poster size and pin it up in every room if my home and workspace lol

  • Veggies have never been a problem for me. Fruit always has been tho.

My solution for that is making a smoothie every morning while I wait for my coffee to brew.

  • I would love nothing more than to befriend an immortal dog!

But this comment is technically answered below

  • There seems to be a lot of people who don't like dogs here right now
