  • But think of the military industrial complex profits! How else are you gonna pay for the re-election campaign for all those senators?

There’s not much profit in fixing broken stuff, the money spent on disaster relief is gone. The only way to recuperate that cost is through taxes which takes a lot longer.

  • It’s sad that we are losing the ability to read and comprehend. Videos are a poor way to reference knowledge. It is much faster to be able to read through a bunch of text and locate meaningful information.

  • Third-party candidates would have a shot if there wasn’t an electoral college and if we had ranked choice voting.

As the system is designed right now, anything that’s not one of the two mainstream parties is a spoiler vote.

In addition, campaign finance laws are so broken any third party candidates cannot compete on a financial level. They simply don’t have enough money to market, advertise, travel, and campaign.

Add to that that most voters don’t understand how government works and are only concerned about one maybe two policy issues. They only vote for the candidate that mentions the one issue they care about. For Republicans, that’s typically gun laws, immigration, and lower taxes. For Democrats, that’s typically medical reform, education, and abortion rights.

Most voters in the last 20 to 30 years, honestly don’t give a shit about policy issues or campaign promises because the politicians have consistently proved that they’re lying. They politicians only listen to lobbyist and corporate interests which pay for their reelection campaigns.

This is why Republicans have been so successful in the last several election cycles without any meaningful platform or policies. They run on gut feeling, cult of personality, and meaningless single voter issues that they know they will never truely change because the lobbyists and incorporate interests will never allow it.

  • And yet people still keep building houses in flood plains. Not to mention Florida.

Insurance companies have always ha the same scam, they’ll happily take your money and pay you $0. That’s the whole point of insurance companies, They use your money for investments and refused to pay out unless you take them to court.

  • This is just a preview of what to come in the educational system of America.

Voucher schools for the rich funded by taxpayers to offset private charter school cost, and shit education that’s super expensive for everyone else.

  • Why do we keep doing this? This is embarrassing for our country and shows the rest of the world how incompetent our own government has become.

Every 6 months the government almost shuts down unless one political party or the other refuses to pass some horrible legislation while holding the other hostage.

  • Commercial fishing is terrible not only for the environment but leaves a large amount of trash in the ocean. It creates a ton of micro plastics and fucks up entire biomes.
