  • Lemmy is not stable version yet. Critical errors are expected. Iā€™m managing multiple instances and I know how buggy Lemmy can be.

    Iā€™m not saying it shouldnā€™t but deciding to update an instance with more than 1000 users can be uncanny quickly.

    • It seems that for a large Lemmy instance to be sustainabile long term (especially at the level of traffic reddit sees) it requires ads and/or raising enough donations like Wikipedia

  • I never seen Google removing accounts. Nor Proton Mail.

    I donā€™t care about downvotes. If I claim an email address there and canā€™t use it after 6 months, that service is shit. What if I used that email in critical service I needed? At least remove mails but let me use the email. Right now it just like a paywalled blog article.

    If free plan is not affordable for your service, just donā€™t let people to that plan.
