And I'm pointing out that the rich aren't actually moving money to anyone but themselves. So yes, the (rich) investors ARE hurting the economy for their own gain.

The fuck you think investors do at all? What value do they create? They definitely don't pay my wages from their own "investment". My wages are paid from the profits created by myself and coworkers working to create, market, sell, distribute the product. Soon as those profits don't hit targets investors will absolutely vote to downsize or shutter entirely, not "invest" and continue paying wages.

Work? Like "buying" yet another company? Or stock buybacks?

If only enthusiasm countered the unjustness of voter suppression and the electoral college.

I have a similar coworker, was constantly coming by and trying to start up conversation. Asking what I did the weekend etc. Why I don't like their pears etc.

Finally one Monday morning when they came by wasting time I pulled off the headphones and asked "do you have a work related issue you need help with? " their response was "no I'm just socializing" I responded with something implying they'd actually be good at their job if they did that instead, and I'm not now or ever interested in socialising with them. They finally buggered off.

It sinks.

Hypothetically, you're a bridge inspector. Someone reports a bridge in your area has problems and should be looked at. It's part of your job to inspect bridges that have reports filed. You go "look at" the bridge but don't inspect because "99% of reports are fake". The bridge collapses killing someone.

Yup I agree for most people the phev is much more logical. Though the complexity comes with lessened reliability and more costly repairs.

I also agree that the low mile capable ev are a bit over priced. I bought the 500e with 20k miles. It has 65k now and I could probably sell it for the same 7k I bought it for.

I live in the western us, where 150 miles isn't all that far, and 200 between compatible fast chargers can be normal depending on where you're driving.

In the end it's all about everyone's personal situation. Mine is, that battery is only a commuter because there's no way I can afford the 400+ mile cars (nor am I interested in them anyways)
