  • I think kindenough is making a point about how things can change easily. Its easy to go from "I am punishing my kid" to abuse in a split second and you may not know the difference especial if you don't/can't reflect on what happened. A small change over time will go unnoticed. I big change can go unnoticed if you are not watching.

  • I got spanked and even hit a time or two as a kid.

I turned out okay considering. Had kids and thought a spanking or two wasn't bad considering what i went though so that's the stance i took. Thankfully we had ip cams instead of video baby monitors when they were babies. $90 vs $350 at the time so that's what we did. I set them up with my Synology to record continuously.

I watched a monster overreact to a common child reaction. [Not justifying just explaining (I was tired and thus had a short fuse as happens at times with young kids)] Thankfully two things had happened. (1) I had the IP camera recording everything that happened, (2) I wanted to see why my kid was acting up and make sure I was in the "right" to spank her. Spoiler, I was not. I saw an angry man react to a kid who didn't want to do something.

I cried, because I was my father when I was punished unjustly as a kid. (There were times I actually was a shit head and it was warranted, but i also remember plenty of times it was not) That morning with my 2 year old it was not. Because of that day I no longer fell into the Spanking is okay for me group.

Don't get me wrong I know there are times it can be helpful but I realized at that moment I was not a good judge of when those times were. This means I was no longer going to do it. That was me but I don't judge other who only spank.

  • You’re right she won’t but more importantly this may actually cause a lot of kids to confront the “me vs parents” view they have lived with. (Edit - “me vs parents” = my views vs what my parents say and think)

My dad always says “this” about democrats and how republicans are right because of “that”.

This will hopefully cause people to think of Swift is endorsing her then I should look into why. There are plenty of people who don’t pay attention to politics not because they are intentionally absent from it, but because it’s just not in the realm of consciousness. This may change that.

  • I usually don't comment on these kind of things but the clear lack of understanding is astounding. Shit is different for every phone and manufacture.

Yes I would totally love expandable storage but you know what, there have been android phones I used that didn't have expandable storage. (Not trying to do "what about" but a simple example showing there are tons of phones that have the same problem)

Xperia 1 III was $1300 when it launched. Not a huge difference but based on inflation that would be $1500 now instead of $999.

Now for the shit almost no one cares about that the iPhone has and have had for years that Xperia 1 III didn't. (And flame bonus, that some android phones still don't!!!!) All shitty jokes aside, I am sure there are plenty of Android phones that have this, just showing the stupidity in the argument.

    • 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio
    • 1,000 nits max brightness (typical); 1,600 nits peak brightness (HDR); 2,000 nits peak brightness (outdoor); 1 nit minimum brightness
    • 2x optical zoom in
    • 5‑core GPU
    • 16‑core Neural Engine
    • Dolby Vision Video Recording
    • Emergency SOS via Satellite

I don't care about this list either its just random stats I found on the iPhone page that didn't show up in the Xperia page. iPhone Stats - https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone-16/specs/ Xperia Stats - https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/mobile-phones-tablets-mobile-phones/xperia-1-iii/specifications

  • Not sure why you are being down voted for asking for clarification. I think based on the tone Nate Cox is making fun of the OG post but based on the comment and lack of clear meaning I understand you question. (Make no mistake I fuck up a comment all the time and miss more than one word in explaining what I am saying. No fault to Nate Cox just all those down voting you)

  • Ohh man, i am right there with you. It was the same for me with CS however I already had it installed. I wanted to update to 1.6 but I had steam installed and it forced me to update steam before I could update CS. I know they had a lot of growing pains but they eventually did it right due to our struggle.

  • Kodi has the IR stuff built in from what I remember. At least on windows it did years ago. You just need a “media remote” at one point called windows media remote. It’s a usb or receiver with a regular IR remote.

After a quick google here is a list I found.
