  • The most OP build in Skyrim is a stealth archer. Every build eventually becomes a stealth archer until the player figures out how boring that is.

Put them in a place where their power means nothing. Oh combat this session is just a group of goblins that they cut through like butter and you’re back to the RP.

  • If there are reliable and fast chargers every 50 miles you’ll have several choices in that 300-400 mile range and we already have plenty of cars capable of that. The goal is not to have everyone stop at every charger. But to allow more people to drive how they are most comfortable and maybe even enable more cars to road trip.

  • Which is kind of dumb, because if you target Firefox you are writing to a standards compliant browser that means your code should work on all other browsers. Chrome came when IE still owned the internet and their goal was to offer a faster browser that still worked, so now chrome has a bunch of hacks coded into it.

  • I’m only 43 so it’s not like I’m far ahead of you, but here’s what I know. You don’t have enough insurance, especially if you have a family; auto home or life. You’re not saving enough for retirement, better bump up those 401k contributions or consider an IRA. Don’t move heavy things anymore, herniated discs are more common and no joke. You aren’t seeing the doctors enough either; get your yearly and don’t skip the dentist, especially if you’re in the US. Dental care once you’re on Medicare is just not reasonable and I’m watching my retired father making some tough decisions on if he should keep his teeth or not.

  • They are and she’s a Dem so she will. Not sure on the lay of the land if it came to an override. Also AZ voters can, with enough signatures, get an item on the ballot bypassing the legislature. So even if it doesn’t go through there it could still end up on a ballot. But at least then in total we are skewing more blue than red.

All in all, very unlikely to see this happen.

  • If you want an actual dumb car that’s reliable, I don’t think anything beats a TJ series Jeep wrangler. Not good gas mileage, but the I6 engine in them is fantastic and it’s still relatively easy to get parts for them despite being 20 years old. You can add an after market head unit for CarPlay out android auto.

If you really do go new, you can disable the cellular radio. It’ll cost you a lot of convenience features, and you won’t get updates. But no cell radio, no ability for it to give your data to the mothership.

  • Maybe, just maybe, you’re not the target audience. The games are usually fun. It’s portable without being “weird” to those that don’t really understand what the stream deck is. It appeals to both parents and kids. It may not do anything that can’t be done elsewhere, but it’s far more approachable than most alternatives.

  • Having an iPhone won’t make Mac any easier, but it will be more integrated. Lots of nice convenience features like a shared note library and your text messages can be interacted with from the laptop.

Not sure what the cost difference is, but considering your other messages were talking about starting out on the path of cybersecurity, a more open platform that you can run Linux off of would probably trump the conveniences.

  • After ditching Reddit I found most of the car centric subreddit content was just coming from forums that survived because car people were inherently old school, even for EVs. So if you want to know the latest about EV trucks there’s forums for Rivian, Cybertruck, and Lightning. The trouble is that they are all very tribal, so getting unbiased info seems harder. I’m also a fan of older jeeps and they are full of problems, but almost all of them have answers on these forums from the early 2000s with links to geocities pages. Hopefully someone detailed the answer and only linked for supporting details.

  • Tesla

  • But that is “battery heater” cold. If you plug in at home most cars will eat some power to keep the battery functional. So many Tesla owners have been spoiled by abundant charger availability they never bothered adding chargers at home, or couldn’t add one.

Once the battery gets cold enough there’s nothing to do without warming it up first. I wonder if we’ll see some portable battery warmers soon to make sure this doesn’t happen again next year.

  • Obviously it’s all going to be dependent on local laws, and depending on their vagueness the attitude of the cop that eventually has to deal with you. Here we have a catch-all ticket for “wasting finite resources” for cops to use when they don’t know what else to ticket you for. Originally it was to stop cruising, but I’m pretty sure no one has gone cruising since gas was $0.25 a gallon. Also I’m wondering if I could fight such a ticket if I can prove I charge my car with 100% solar.
