I don’t really wish to debate this. Marxism so far has involved centralized power. Centralized power is easy to manipulate and corrupt. Anarchism at its core is decentralized power. Not impossible to manipulate and corrupt but more difficult.
Most people want to be left alone with the fruits of their labor. Anarchism is more likely to accomplish this.
Anarchist. I lean somewhere between anarcho communist and libertarian socialist. In the most basic sense, I’m suspicious of power because I believe power corrupts and no system of economics or government is immune to this.
Yeah, meanwhile the only actual tankies are the ones who cheerlead the USSR and PRC.
As an anti authoritarian, while I can see some redeeming qualities in those countries, overall I’m not a fan. Though I do love me some propaganda art from the time.
Oh yeah, it near perfectly captures where the mountains are. The green areas are mountains and cities. NH is interesting, the darkest part is where the ski areas are, the lighter part is the more populated area.
Yeah. My fear, and I’ve been shouting this from the rooftops since 2001’s patriot act, is that we have the infrastructure in place already to do quite a bit of damage in two years. And look at all the major players in the tech industry - nearly every single one of the big names are fascists. Peter theil, Elon musk, mark zuckerberg… and I’m suspicious as hell of Sam Altman.
Remember, IBM made the Holocaust possible. It was the industrialization of death…
It’s wild to me that as of time making this comment I have 12 upvotes and you have -7 and we’re in agreement with each other.
I’m interested to see if the state’s rights crowd is going to go after states like mine for having a constitutional right to abortion. Friends and I have been taking bets on what they’re gonna try. Everyone I know in my state has a “fuck around find out” attitude about if the christofascists try to interfere with us.
Haha. What’s interesting is there’s other high country in the US but it’s not green in this map. Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Idaho…
And with the exception of vermont and a small part of NY, most of the yellow in the northeast is low lying areas not very high above sea level. California has mountains too.
As of now women have more rights in the US but the christofascists are chipping away quickly at them. It’s dependent now on what state you’re in. I’m in a state with abortion rights codified into our constitution… whereas other women in the christofascist ran states are dying in childbirth because the healthcare they need to survive is banned.
And if the people overthrew Hitler in 1933 would it be because they’re sore losers who lost? He went into power democratically elected. I think hindsight shows us that somebody should of tried to overthrow him to avoid all the horrible deaths caused by him.
Make no mistake. These christofascists will round up people like me. I’m a visibly queer woman and I can’t keep my mouth shut or try to feminize myself more to blend in. They’re gonna give me no choice but to defend myself. After reviewing history, I vote offense rather than defense this time around.
Oh my god, I’d have so much respect for them if they did that. They won’t. They’re going to gladly hand over power to fascists because taking the high road is always the right thing to do to liberals. That and tone policing anyone who suggests something stronger than marching around with signs ineffectually.
I’ve tried on a variety… I worked in the action sports industry so I’ve had access to high end glasses and goggles for a long time, even top of the line brands and what not. It’s the polarization. I wear goggles all the time and only wear spherical lenses because the flat shaped ones have too much distortion.
