  • That's 2-3 communities for how many thousands of servers on the fediverse? Just because in the current growth phase tgere is not one clear winner, soon one will pull in front enough that it will grab all the new users.

This aspect of centralisation will recreate the toxic reddit dynamic of unstoppable mod power.

  • Yes, exactly, because I'm never going to visit every /book times the numbers of server on the fediverse and no one else ever will.

It HAS to all be in /c/books or else tgere will be only one server with /c/books that has over 80% of the user., defeating the point of decentralisation

  • Still less criminal than the admistration so very shaky ground for this claim.

All current drug problens themselves were created by republicans who they invented the drug war in the 70s intentionally to curtail free speech of Vietnam war protesters.

The drug over criminalization created the environement that directly leads to fentanyl being an optimal border crossing narcotic.

Drug dealers are more respectable right now than all administration members combined, even the "illegal" ones.

All very dubious for the most powerful country in the world, which rapes the entire planet for mineral ressources to call any human "illegal".

I speak for all humans when I say, this planet would be a lot better without the memetic infections known as America, China, Europe, India, Russia.

Maybe if they all had a nuclear fireworks party the survivors would have the opportunity to learn not to build those monstrous egregores.

  • This is moderator empowerment at work. A structural flaw in lemmy that can only be solved with frictionless user migration, automatic community agglomeration like /c/books and crowd sourced moderation to diffuse tge concentrated power of moderators, that is the only way to prevent abuse and make lemmy more than reddit with extra steps.

  • The right answer is letting the user decide. The second answer is the user will scrape every post on every server on every hour so censorship becomes impossible. Sorry but instance owner and moderator empowerment over the users turn lemmy into reddit with extra steps.

  • When will users be able to frictionlessly migrate between instances without losing their posts, their comments, their history, their relationships, their reputation etc? (Without requiring the consent of the exiting instance owner, or that this server still even exists, as they sometimes don't)

  • That would means the disappearance of /new once enabled. It should be a smarter algorithm that gives you just a few of them to vote on and do your part on sorting. But that also means your feed is no longer strictly chronological.

  • I would have pasted it as a single comment, but that hit the character limit. So I split it in multiple comments. But now people aren't downvoting them equally, so the comments are getting out of order. These really have to be read in my posting order to understand what I did.

Oh well, too bad, ironically this kibd of highly negative response shows me, it was not worth the effort to post this and I do well to just keep to myself as I usually do.
