  • Why don’t you guys start a new community that suits you? I bet there’s more people that feel the same way.

  • Narwhal still works but it’s terrible so I get why people pretend it doesn’t exist.

  • They still behave like a monopoly. Microsoft owning everything is bad for tech even if they can throw money at it and make it “better.” I moved to codeberg.org and it’s been decent.

  • News hysteria created feedback loops that drove a lot of shortages. At first, people are stocking up more than they would before because things are weird. Similar to a hurricane or blizzard. The news started reporting shelves were EMPTY and you probably are never going to get toilet paper again. People start panic buying because they’re scared. Or because they think they can take advantage of the situation and make money. This drives more news stories about shortages which drives even more fear and panic buying.

Probably Covid related supply chain issues factor in as well. I’m somewhat skeptical it was the main driver since the problem seemed to go away as soon as the grocery store started limiting how much an individual could buy.

  • Wow, that was a lot more insightful than I expected

  • So we won’t decompose or stick to things. Where’s the downside?

  • The reality is that all 3 are full of micro plastics. And there’s some overlap in the Teflon lead generation. And non stick material is still not all that great.

Really, the only problem we’ve solved kinda is lead, unless you’re poor.

  • This is incredibly obvious but it’s stated this way because a more honest headline would be uninteresting. The last time there was a serious Republican primary was 2015.

So they’re saying debate ratings are lower than the last time there wasn’t an obvious front runner. Yeah, no shit cnbc. Good job.

  • One is just running a command and exiting. They seem to be using a separate container for sync storage and token storage. Not sure what those are but is likely set up this way for scaling. This could probably be pretty easily worked in to one container with a start up script that runs that SQL command. The overhead of running multiple Mariadb containers isn’t that much though so it probably doesn’t matter much.

  • Yeah, still made in the same factory in Ohio.

  • Nonsense. I drive my Whirlpool Kitchenaid hard and I’ve never had an issue. But they are still easy to repair. And still made in Ohio. Besides some tweaks, there’s not that much difference.

  • The battery isn’t too difficult to replace

  • Are you within 15 years of the end of your life?

  • It sounds good in theory but look at how people behave just for the fake internet points. Every top comment in any reasonably large subreddit reads like a bot trying to input all the right words to make the hive mind reward them. It’s why subreddit simulator is so creepy.

I guess you could say that’s pretty much how all communication works but at such a large scale, it starts to get very homogenized and the site starts feeling like one person interacting with themselves. There’s no room for actual discussion because anyone deviating from the hive mind gets buried and attacked. I’m not even talking about politics, go to a guitar subreddit and imply that wood makes a difference in guitar tone. You will get downvoted and all the responses will be over the top indignant which shuts down all discussion.

If you can turn your pandering in to cash, this only gets worse.

  • Fraud is a crime that can come with jail time though.

  • Well my first thought is that Obama’s Bacon number is 3 and Don Bacon met with Obama when he was in the military. So his Bacon number is at least 4.

I think you can maybe get him to 3 through Trump though since he was in Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock, who was in Loverboy with Kevin Bacon. And Don Bacon was pretty outspoken during the Trump admin so I think it counts as a connection.

He can’t have a legit bacon number though since he’s got no film credits

  • It’s a great idea and I’m very interested but this article is just an ad. There’s very little substance.
