  • Do you have an address you can just mail it to?

  • Kindle plus calibre is a very nice setup. Since the base model got a back light, it’s all I need. Kindle is the one thing Amazon does okay, it works really well for reading books and it’s cheap. And it’s pretty easy to get books on it.

Can’t speak for other options though.

  • I live in a small town next to a giant pile of gravel lol It’s probably not free. In my case, the owner of the property was planning on putting in a gravel driveway to a old house he was going to fix up but then never did. It’s been abandoned for years, no idea what’s going on now. But he owns the gravel and taking it would be theft. Although I could probably get away with it if I was in a desperate gravel situation.

  • In my experience, Comcast shit never shows up on your credit report. I have had this exact same experience and got no where arguing with them so I just ignored it forever and nothing happened. This was over 7 years ago.

If it does hit your credit, you can dispute it and there’s a decent chance you’ll win. I’ve had that issue with direct TV where they claimed I never returned equipment I had returned. But these companies get in to this situation because they are terrible at record keeping.

Also, any time your speed dips below advertised, file a complaint with the FCC. They won’t get in trouble but it will annoy them enough you’ll get fast tracked customer service. I used to have some VPs phone number and I tried for like 40 minutes to get her to just admit to being evil. She wouldn’t. But they changed the phone number because I posted it everywhere after I stopped having to have Comcast or I would give it to you.

I hate Comcast with every fiber of my being.

  • You got a dead pump. But lucky for you, parts are cheap and it’s pretty easy to work in these things. Search YouTube for Gaggia classic refurbishing or get more specific, there’s a ton of videos.

I’ve bought a few old classics and fixed them up for myself and friends. They’re pretty simple, you might want to take the opportunity to replace the boiler gasket and descale it while you have it open. If you’ve never done this before and it’s that old, you might be surprised how gross it is inside. You can buy a kit to refurbish them that comes with all the gaskets you need. I would also highly recommend preemptively replacing the thermostat. It just screws in to the boiler. I’ve had one short out and catch fire in a old one, now I replace them as part of the refurbish.

  • There’s probably more money in just doing that directly

  • You want to look for one with a high fat content. That’s what you need for it to froth

  • The answer is really nothing comes anywhere close to milk from a mammal. Anyone who tells you otherwise is coping or doesn’t know the true gloriousness of milk foam.

I’m a former professional barista that can’t have milk and this is the bane of my existence.

Basically all milk alternatives are essentially the same. They are water, a bit of something to give it a name and flavor (soy, almond, oat, pick your fad), and oil. Usually seed oil.

The oil gives it the fat that tries to be foam. Oatly is pretty good but a lot of oat milk doesn’t have enough fat, I think most soy milk is good, I don’t know of any almond milk that works well which doesn’t make too much sense since almonds have a lot of fat.

But you have to temper your expectations. Your best option might be regular milk with a supplement to help you digest milk.

  • This comment hurt my soul

  • I get exactly what you’re saying but I’m not sure I have a great answer for you. I think it’s all about dopamine. Smoking cannabis reconnects me with that childlike feeling. Also, having a kid really helped me. Seeing the world through her eyes as she experienced childhood is amazing. Before kid I felt like I couldn’t really enjoy anything like I could before without drugs. I’m not sure how much of that is depression and how much is just getting older.

  • It’s odd to me people think Elon is more evil anyway. He’s definitely louder and stupider but way less responsible for tearing apart the fabric of our society. And some of his projects have been a net positive.

They should both lose to death but if we’re gonna make the comparison, Zuckbot is hands down more evil.

That being said, it will still be hilarious if zucc beats the shit out of Elongated Muskrat.

  • Planet oat tastes the worst but is the only one that’s not loaded up with a bunch of oil. The unsweetened original Planet Oat is good enough and 45 calories a cup. But I guess it’s the skim milk of oat milk.

  • We’ve had a good balance the past couple days. I like both.

  • This sounds too stupid to be real but I was working for one of the largest corporations in the world during this period and we were congratulated on 20% growth even though we did nothing. Of course we didn’t get an extra bonus or anything but they acted like we had an incredible year when we really just had an average year with a massive tax cut.

Then the next year, our goal was to grow at 20% again and when we missed it by 17%, no one got a bonus or raise.

This timeline is the stupid one.

  • I guess it’s a tradition to name fediverse projects after animals and the original creator was a big fan of the Lemmings games and Lemmy from Motorhead had just died.

Here’s a link with info on the origin story:

  • They’re suing Amazon for punishing sellers who don’t use Amazon fulfillment services. It’s a good thing but hardly “the big one.” They aren’t breaking them up, it’s only the big one in the sense that this is the biggest they’ll ever be brave enough to do.
