  • That and fucking OneDrive. Autosave isn't able to function on O365 without OneDrive screw you microsoft

  • It's because of shit like this that I'm glad I switched to Linux.

  • My wife would probably divorce me for having a girlfriend I didn't know about

  • I really liked Civ 4 for some of the fantasy mods like Orbis(?), but after Civ 5 came out, that primarily what I've played since then. I've played a little of Civ Alpha Centauri, and haven't touched Civ 6 mostly because Stellaris came out around the same time and then I got busy with school.

I have almost 3000 hours into Stellaris at this point. I may have a problem.

  • I appreciate the advice and will probably do so.

  • You're right, it's been a learning experience.

  • I fully agree with EU dependency being extremely dangerous.

  • I might have to make a new account here. I made a comment and then edited it to address a Q_Anon adjacent hexbear user that replied to me. It's really strange. They say they are extreme leftists on their sidebar, but their politics are anti-Western, which puts them essentially with NK, China, and Russia, which are an authoritarian brand of communist or fascist that prosecutes and imprisons trans, LGBTQ+, etc,.

At this point I think they are simply trying to get reactions and shit stir for lulz. Getting told I should die because I corrected a Hexbear's use of misinformation is surreal. I never thought an extreme Leftist or five would openly and brazenly support a regime that literally made supporting LGBTQ+ stuff a crime only a year or two ago. It's wild.

  • My mother was all into the satanic panic BS and Linin's words about winning the next war via education and indoctrination of youth in our schools. Dad turned out, interestingly enough, to be closeted gay when they divorced because he was also an abusive sack of shit father.

The ironic part is that he is so indoctrinated from his small hometown upbringing that he still votes Republican-only and hides the fact his business partner and co-owner of his father's ranch he inherited is also his boyfriend, or at this point, common law husband. He still hides it because the small community he lives in would probably not be very welcoming. The funny thing is that, at least before it was revealed he was hiding a boyfriend, he was hugely homophobic.

It took me literal years to deprogram, in no small part from reddit, traveling through the military, and seeing the hypocrisy of modern Christianity. It's sad that so many will never question the values they grew up with and will turn into the next generation ignoramus.

  • Well shit I guess we practically have to invade now

  • Oh I'm familiar with it. My entire family operates this way. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. I joined the military due to my parents fears about Russia and China invading or some shit. Now I'm the liberal because I've actually educated myself, and here they are defending the very things they were terrified of 25 years ago just to own the libs.

  • Haven't we learned our lesson about unprovoked wars after watching East Europe for the past year and a half??

@emizeko - not sure if you're a Russian troll or a poor American doing the real fascists' work for them--but I'm sorry for you my friend and hope the best for you. If you missed it in my other comments, I'm currently serving in the US military and am very confident that Western media at large is on the money, and that a novice OSINTer could refute the fanfic you posted. Best wishes.

  • Init is program computer start that start computer. Computer use Lemmy to start init. Now init start Lemmy too

  • Fiancee and I were hiking into and camping at a state park. We got a little turned around and low on water, so I was a bit out of it and tired. I saw an interesting looking log across the trail and stepped over the smaller end of it. It was around 9:30am, so things were a little cold. I stopped and turned to wait for my fiancee and right as she was about to step on the log I realized it was an enormous 6-ish foot long rattlesnake. I grabbed her arm right before she put her foot down on the bastard and yanked her as hard as I could and backed up a step or two. Somehow the snake hadn't noticed me yet, but it noticed me wrenching my fiancee away from it and it went into full coil-up-and-rattle mode. Had that thing bitten me I would have been in a bad place because I was already dehydrated. If it had bitten my wife, both of us would have been in a bad place because we were closer to our destination with fresh water than to our car.

  • Midjourney isn't free though, correct? I was thinking about doing this, but I'm also just bit behind the curve with image generation AI and just not sure about how to best go about it.

  • It's phenomenal for making statblocks for NPCs too. fleshes out the whole thing in seconds. spells, feats, abilities, everything.

  • Been chomping at the bit for cosmic since I learned of it.
