Not an expert, but when I have tried to fix this, i ended up having to pull up the floor and use an underlayment pad for wood subfloor or self leveling floor compound for concrete floors to minimize height differences. Depending on the type of laminate and how it was installed you might be able to put it back in. Hopefully it was floating and/or snap and lock, not glued or nailed in place.
I dont know that Reynolds has a bad book, and everything that touches the Revelation Space universe is in my opinion gold. Even his short stories Diamond Dogs Turquoise Days is a great and intense read.
Some of his standalone novels are also awesome like House of Suns, and Pushing Ice.
Holly berries. The holly tree stays green throughout the winter and fruits around now. While not great eating it provided calories in the darkest part of the year.
I'm seeing an incredible turn towards the kind of organic platforms of the 1.0 web world. They may never hit the same level of popularity as the commercial platforms like Facebook and Twitter did, but these new platforms like Lemmy, Mastodon, and others are letting us build a new space.
Probably the best part is that so much of it is built on FOSS meaning that the monetization and enshitification by investors will have a much harder time taking root.
Then don't buy those products. I only buy phones I can unlock and install my own version of Android on. Same with computers and iot. If I can't install my own software then I didn't own it.
Used UPS's show up from time to time. I recently found a craigslist posting with 6 all of which were in decent shape needing some cleaning, and new batteries.
Batteries are the rub since they only last about 5 years so most used ones need new batteries. Good news is its not that hard to replace them as long as you take your time and pay attention.
More so when these plants take 10 years to build. They will pass along the cost and just wait him out.
