Remember in the 2000's before gay marriage was legal a lot of people would suggest elimination of the word marriage and just call everything civil unions to appease religious objections?
That's what eliminating gendered bathrooms sounds like. Gay and straight people enjoy being married. Trans and cis people enjoy their gendered privacy that makes them feel safer. I believe you're intentions are good but removing a universal cultural norm isn't the solution. It's side stepping the issue of transphobia, exactly like whites only bathrooms sidesteped racism.
Sex is the physical sexual characteristics of your body. Such as breasts, penis or vagina. This can be altered by surgery or way more commonly, hormones which greatly alter the makeup of sex organs. It is also why people born with a mix of sexual characteristics are called intersex.
Gender is the social construct performance that we all do to interact with the world. Gender roles have changed a lot over time and culture, most easily seen by cooking being womens work and having a job being men's. Gender can and does change a lotRedneck, goth, jock are all genders because it tells you something about how that person interacts with the world socially. There is no wrong way to be a human, you can have multiple genders and every gender is inherently valid.
Identity is who you see yourself as in the mirror. It's sort of immposible to describe who that is, so many express it via gender, but not exclusively. Many people are happy in their gender role, but see themselves differently. This is something that can change over time, but not willingly be changed.
The state assumes everyones sex determines their gender and identity so documents use the three interchangeably and it drives me up the wall.
I simmarily roll my eyes when people volunteer "I'll go vegan as soon as lab grown meat is cheap, healthy and indistinguishable." Every meat eater says this to me at some point.
Like okay, that's nice? Lots of us live and thrive just fine without it, but even when all your hurdles are passed you'll find some other reason.
I think it's heartwarming gibberish but there is also, I think, a legitimate role in the discourse for heartwarming gibberish. Sometimes you have to explain what being trans is to a person who believes that dogs go to heaven and, in most circumstances, saying "I'm a female soul in a male body" gets the point across.
As a disabled, trans, vegan, anarchist my life and beliefs are far more complicated than I could express in a comment section. So I tend not to lead with any of those labels and instead focus on quippy one liners about personal liberty from goverment or religious institutions.
No random person wants to read my nuanced memoirs, but they will read and remember pithy snark. I'm an anarchist that sounds like a libertarian fool, but it's the language that more people in mixed company relate to.

Pet detective was my favorite movie growing up, now I try to forget it exists. Most movies haven't aged well in terms of casual bigotry of all flavors. Yet they still hold value, some more than others. It's just important to remember they were products of their time. Which makes them good measuring sticks for how audiences have changed. Sometimes the real joke is what I used to find funny as a kid.
I made the mistake of watching dude wheres my car again recently. I enjoyed it as a kid, but the way that trans charcter was done really upset me. I entirely forgot she existed in the movie, but a cis actress who was dubbed with a cis man voice was used to trick the main charcters into making out and then played as gross out humor. Her whole storyline was just flat out upsetting stereotypes.
The tattoo scene is still a total gem, but the rest of it aged so poorly.
As a huge baulders gate fan that has finished the game about 5 times, I would say that's a mostly correct characterization. If you play on the easiest settings, then yeah you can totally drop in and out while enjoying the story. But anything beyond that will need either some tactical planning or doing research on best builds.
Not really, there are lists of the more well known ones. But they absolutely are not definitive. Much like gender, prounons are a social construct. It's just a quickie handhold to communicate how that particular person sees themselves. They're essentially stereotypes of stereotypes that mold and change over time. Which is why what's considered women's work (cooking) and men's work (grilling) have shifted over time. Redneck, goth, jock & etc are all different forms of gender because it loosely describes how that person presents to the world. So a new gender/prounons is born, valid and inherently correct the moment someone says it. Gender is a social performance and there is no way to do it wrong.

When I was in the early days of my transition, I literally asked the same thing! Good question! You're right, to put your new name/prounons into your name is inherently sorta doxxing yourself. You're unfortunately entirely correct that it's a risk depending on where you live. However the answer is also unfortunate and that's its worth the risk to most people. All of our situations are different, but without question there are trans folk, out or closeted, that do not get to use their chosen name/prounons in real life. If they don't use it online, the they effectively don't get to be correctly identified in any part or their life. It's out of desperation to be validated in some way. It's a bummer, but I get it. I'm lucky and privileged enough to be out full time, so I don't use my name online. But I'm absolutely not gonna judge how another person gets through the day.
You don't get to decide if another person's identity is valid or not. That's literally just transphobia, and perpetuating that inside our own community is truscum behavior. An individual person has the final word on who they are, what they're called and how to correctly refer to them.
