  • Yes we have a good broad based system. A trip to the ER costs nothing. Many doctors visits are at least partially covered. I had to have overnight tests done which required a (public) hospital stay - no out of pocket. It's not perfect but it's pretty great compared to, say, the US. Conservative side of government would love to dismantle it and both sides chip away at it.

  • I am about to have a shower and go to bed.

  • I had not realised the subtleties of how preferences in senate votes work now. I vaguely remember reading about it when they brought it in but then promptly forgot . It's so much less of a hassle now

  • Inspired by the aldi camping sale this weekend I was looking up gear because I want to get a basic camping setup (ex had all the gear when we got together and I left it all with him). Aldi was a good start but then I made the mistake of looking on Facebook marketplace and now my internet experience is just tents all the way down....

  • I have been voting for 30 years and consider myself very aware of the system but this taught me heaps. Thanks!

  • Nah I have the workpack which is the smallest of the transit line. 20L IIRC. Perfect for laptop+cable stuff, notebook pens, lunch, phone etc. and space if I need to chuck in a jumper or a raincoat or something. And I am a shortarse - I don't find it big. I used to have an even smaller one but was commuting and just needed a bit more space.

  • Glad to hear. And you got this!

  • Beautiful. Coloured glass is my favourite

  • Bellroy transit workpack. Good pockets. Keeps laptop separate from lunch.. nice shape too. I like a squarer shape. Currently a big in love with the look of the Fjallraven Kanken stuff but can't justify a new one.

  • Ah autumn. Flanno - too cold. Oodie - too hot. Now snuggled into old fav hoodie. Just right. Plus fingerless gloves (years driving a keyboard == sore joints on a cold morning)

  • Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of a anxiety dream I grab a soft blanket and wrap it around me and lie on the floor with my legs up on the bed. And I lie there and breathe. It lets your back really flatten out and stretch and helps me feel attached to the ground. Sometimes I literally also touch the bark of one of the gum trees on the way to the train station after a particularly bad night. YMMV so just putting it out there. Anxiety dreams SUCK especially when you wake up in the middle before your brain has finished filing whatever it is its trying to file. Go gently today.

  • Are you sure it will be a headache? Linux printer drivers are up to date. VPN depends on the software used but most of the big names have Linux installers. I have to work within client systems and for the meeting at part can make it work.

  • We are hear to listen any time. Gentle hugs.
