  • I completely agree with what you're saying. Physics is definitely in favor of the larger mass during a collision. But if you need to get a big car, just because everyone else has a big car, that seems like a race no one wins (except auto manufacturers).

  • If you have an Android TV, I highly recommend SmartTube. You do need to sideload the APK. But once you do that, it's smooth sailing. It has no ads + SponsorBlock. It just.doesn't support LG's OS or Roku.

  • That makes sense. My Win 11 skills are definitely lacking. They are going to drag me kicking and screaming. I'm holding out for LTSC before I install it on a test rig (to play with at home). I only run 10 and Debian at the moment.

  • I'd suggest Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC if you're sticking with M$. It's the least bloated and least intrusive modern OS. You should see improvement in battery life and your devices can use the same drivers. The official MSDN ISOs aren't hard to find. Then find "massgravel" on GitHub and you can pretty easily figure out permanent activation via HWID.

  • Civic in this context refers to the compact car model produced by Honda since 1972. It is popular for being cheap and frequently modified (AKA "riced"). Civics in its alternative context is the study of the rights and obligations of citizens in society. The term relates to behavior affecting other citizens, particularly in the context of urban development.

  • Don't rely on YouTube to pass money to your favorite content creators. Most have their own site (where they sell merch or have a way to donate directly to them). Your Premium subscription goes right in Google's pocket. I'm sticking with YouTube Revanced and SmartTube.

  • Mostly too many false positives from shadows. Its definitely user error, as I know motion detection is completely configurable. What FOSS IP cam software do you guys run that I should commit to trying and sticking with?

  • I use Blue Iris for capturing IP cameras. I've tried ZoneMinder, iSpy, and Motion (via MotionEyeOS) but just can't find something that works as dependably well. It could definitely be user error (and not getting the alternatives dialed in). But I always go back to Blue Iris. 😔
