Wow. 99! That's impressive, he had a long life. RIP
I always remember it was so fun as a kid to watch The Price is Right with my grandma when I'd miss school. Those were seemingly mundane moments then, but I'd give anything to go back for just one episode like that again. Good times.
How would you compare the moon landings with Pearl Harbor?
What nationalism does to someone.
One is a global, milestone event in the history of humanity. The other was one battle during a World War which had already seen many battles before the US got involved and would see much worse. I don't know if anyone outside of the US gives a shit about Pearl Harbor. Haha
Most days, honestly, about 2-3 hours. I'm not working at all today. Although, some days come by and I put down a solid 10-12 hours without asking for overtime.
Everyone at my job thinks I'm overworked and doing a great job though. But I think it's just a balance. I work hard some days without complaining and I get to mostly chill the others. Best part is that I work remotely, but I'm not working in tech so I don't collect those fat checks. That's another trade. Great work-life balance, but not much money. Worth it though.
Jesus. That was difficult to read but I can imagine it was even more difficult to live through. I'm really sorry all that happened to you.
If I may ask, what was the reasoning behind the first thing you mentioned? That just sounds so insane. Was she just trying to show you that your dad was cheating on her to turn you against him or was it more like she got off on it?
Yeah, I am a bit paranoid because I know enough to be concerned but also lacking enough advanced technical skills to make me feel comfortable which makes me feel more paranoid. Haha
I do mostly worry about keyloggers or something that might hang around despite formatting and new OS. So I might just end up buying new to avoid the unending paranoia that I might project onto a used laptop.
Maybe there's a better place for this question, but how do you make sure a used laptop is safe? Or would removing Windows and installing Linux be enough?
I want to buy a laptop for Linux, and would buy a used one so that it's cheaper but I have to admit I worry about it. I know one could be worried even about new laptops and what manufacturers could be up to, but I feel like the unknown arbitrariness of a used laptop gets to me.
Thanks! I meant to go back to my childhood, on a carefree day, and have fun watching it with my grandma. But I appreciate it!
