  • Great news for Boost users! I'm still using Sync and Photon the most but love how many options there are for Lemmy.

  • Lemdro.id remains federated with them. Otherwise, you can check an instance's federation/defederation list via instance.url/instances.

  • Personally, working from home provided huge cost savings. I was also able to drop my personal phone to a bare minimum since I was always home and on wifi.

  • RIP Google Podcasts. I'm not a fan of everything being moved under the YouTube branding, a platform I've come to associate with terrible ads, questionable algorithms, and the promotion of misinformation.

  • On the software front, Xiaomi is now promising to provide 4 generations of Android OS upgrades as well as 5 years of security patches. The Xiaomi 13T series launches with MIUI 14 on top of Android 13, so this means they should receive OS updates all the way to Android 17 and security updates until September 2028.

Nice to see the software support commitments, although it's launching with Android 13.

  • In this case it's probably because teachers are underpaid and undervalued. Costco happens to be one of the few known for treating their employees well and going beyond legal requirements.

  • You can only block individual communities right now, but apps like Sync let you filter instances from your All view.

  • You wouldn't have to go back that far to make $$$$. Just go back a week and buy the right stock options.

  • I used to want a Tesla and loved catching SpaceX streams but this has all soured them for me.

  • Congrats! You're really giving folks all the options!

  • Beeper can be quirky when it comes to joining Matrix channels and it doesn't support Matrix Spaces. You'll have to join the individual channels via the desktop Beeper app.

  • The rest of the tweet didn't make the title but it sounds like it will automatically scan locally instead of prompting to upload.

  • Interesting. I hadn't thought of it before, but I have a Thunderbolt 3 dock that works fine with Windows via both USB-C and Thunderbolt - whereas my Steam Deck (in desktop Arch Linux mode) doesn't like it very much.
