  • Jesus, why did they choose that name? I get that it means truth, but surely it was tainted by the then 88 year old newspaper in the country that colonized yours? Imagine if an Algerian person, fed up with French interference in their media, founded the Algerian newspaper, Le Monde.

  • In that case, I wasn’t interested and just felt immense pity at the situation, so I completely ignored it and talked to another coworker about our SOs at the group lunch table with him.

I’ve definitely noticed it on job interviews I’ve held and first dates/relationship milestones. In the former, I just ignore it, and in the latter, I do keep it in mind.

I have to shower after I have something like a job interview though, because it’s not a pleasant smell.

  • To be clear, I can’t differentiate between fear, anxiety, stress, and stimulants, except for intensity. It might be any of those if it smells a little like a battery. The first time I noticed it on someone else, it was someone with a crush on me who had to spend all day with me, so not exactly fear, but nerves.

A sudden change in BO can indicate all sorts of things though, from Parkinson’s to diabetic shock to sepsis, so you might want to let her know.

  • I can smell fear. I always thought that was normal, because it’s used idiomatically, but the first time I said something in a group of people, they looked at me like an alien. When someone’s anxious, their sweat smells more metallic to me, like amphetamine/coke sweat (which makes sense).

  • That sounds really inconvenient, I’m sorry. I can dislocate certain joints at will (fingers, shoulders, knees, and hips), but it doesn’t just happen, luckily. I do wonder how much worse it will get as I get older, but I haven’t been able to find much on mild cases in later years.

  • I’ve got mild EDS and so far (thirties), it’s just helpful (as long as you stay active and maintain good core muscles). Extreme EDS can result in your skin sloughing off or all of your joints dislocating in your sleep, so it’s not something to ignore, but if the only symptom is your thumb touching your wrist, you might just be lucky.

  • Sounds like it’s universal advice for your goal qualities. I’ve been told multiple times by many different people to aim to be the least intelligent or skilled person in the room, so I can learn better.

It’s sad that these people who aren’t desperate or in need just want money enough for wealth to be their most desired quality.
