I saw the technical discussions (if you are a tech person I would recommend watching those on YT) and it seems that EU is trying to find some middle ground where companies won't have to incur a lot of losses but still be open and create a fair environment for newcomers.
Why was it allowed in the first place? Generally I'm pro freedom but in this case the phones should be locked down and there should be a whitelist of apps they can install. It's not a personal phone.
I think a large part of why Framework laptops worked and no mobile equivalent has come up is because most of phone ecosystem is not free. When I install Lineage OS on my phone I always expect a decrease in the quality of photos because lot of the camera stuff is proprietary and baked into the OEM ROM.
I get that the Framework equivalent of phones can manufacture their own devices and write FOSS firmware for it but it's a big hurdle which not many can afford.
On the contrary in laptops/PCs you can install Linux and expect most of the hardware to work out of the box. So until phone ecosystem gets as free as PC ecosystem (I doubt it will considering how the corporations work) I doubt a Framework equivalent will be available for phones.
Is it different from a pressure cooker? Because pressure cooker is similar (add water, rice, start cooking, wait for X whistles) and has multiple use cases.
Nextcloud by itself is pretty secure. They have a docker container to set everything up. So the weak link would be how you host it. If you host it on a vps, can the vps be trusted and if you self host it can you set the firewalls properly. Source: I'm currently setting it up on a Odroid N2+
I have major issues with this game's battling system. The original game's combat is pretty complex but it is well balanced with 6 different stats, types, abilities, etc. Pokemon go simplifies it into type advantages and a number (CP). CP is more affected by atk than def and hp. This (amongst other things) trivializes def and hp stats.
I was hopeful that they would rework this with pvp but they didn't. Instead they tried to copy the Smogon tiers (the different leagues) but somehow made the original combat which requires a lot of strategy to a dumb tap fast to win combat.
I used to play Pokemon Go a lot till covid and I kept hoping for better updates and new mechanics (I even theorized how they could translate the turn based combat to real time) but it seemwd they didn't want to make it anymore than what it was so I quit.
Not ethical: If you have to submit assignments (like .docx files) online and you haven't finished it in time, take a random .docx file and edit it in a text editor (like notepad) and add/delete some random stuff. You can send this file and the professor won't be able to open it so you will get an extension by default.
BRICS won't be as successful as G7 despite the growing importance I think because India and China are at odds with each other unlike G7 where there are no internal disputes.
Oh wow. TIL! Any recommendws sources? I want to read the full coverage
