  • Do you ever get that thing where the more you look at a word the more it looks wrong? I'm getting that with "would" and "could" after reading this thread.

  • Has anybody tried this on ao486 (MiSTer)?

  • I found that my colleague had stuck it on an i5 today.

  • Hmm, maybe it's one per ear?!

  • Apparently this is the one thing which is controlled by a single gene, and works as you were taught in school with dominant and recessive traits.

Nothing else does, including the things you were taught like eye and hair colour - they are much more complicated.

  • I missed them, of course. They are set to return tonight but probably not as good.

  • True, but the Switch was a big rethink so retaining backwards compatibility would have been tricky.

  • The 3DS had backward compatibility with physical DS games. The Wii U had backward compatibility with Wii games (the Wii could also play GameCube games). No surprises here - especially if they are going to call it "Switch 2" I'd have been surprised if it wasn't compatible.

3DS cartridges had an extra notch on them to stop them being inserted into a DS. Probably we'll get something similar here or there will be some software mechanism to stop attempts to run the new games on the old system.

  • If it calls for 200g of aubergine, then you can weigh that at the shop... It's more convenient at that end, and you can get the right amount.

  • I'm amazed they are that uncommon. Here (UK) you can walk into a supermarket and pick them up for less than £20.

  • Not quite the same as Stones and Kilogrammes are both units of weight. Using cups is like weighing somebody using those luggage size baskets in the airport.

  • Depends how many sugars. At least three heaped teaspoons should qualify, two is borderline.

  • I turned it off after a few seconds because it was in French.

  • I like how all the other instances have taken it incredibly seriously, and we've basically sent Scooch.

  • The Microvitec M1438 is the one I remember always being recommended.

  • If you're in the UK (and I suspect you're not, but I post this partly to help out others in a similar situation), the NHS have a "Talking Therapies" service for depression and anxiety. You can self refer so there's no need to get diagnosed by a doctor first.

  • I didn't know I needed this. In fact, I'm still not sure but thanks for posting it!

  • Mastodon, Bookwyrm, Mbin, and I'm also on a test instance of Takahē (Mastodon compatible microblogging platform) which I quite like for the multiple personalities feature.
