  • On r/thinkpad (I think), I at some point read about the AMD powered machines having extraordinary battery life on Linux, to the degree that I regretted my very recent Intel ThinkPad purchase. Maybe that's something to search for. I think it was the new T14.

  • "Diller" is childrens' slang for penis in Danish.

  • Off-topic, but seriously, try remapping using keyd instead. It's amazing.

  • I'd say whatever else, go for hotswap with MX switches. You'll try it, learn, and can replace your switches easily and quite cheaply.

Switches make a huge difference. Being stuck with ones you don't really like because you didn't get a hotswap board would really be a shame.

  • As far as I know, then "soft inboxes" of Gmail is not directly duplicable in any client (but their own on Android).

  • What happens if you install keyd, run the monitor with keyd - m, then press the key. Do you get an response?

  • I enjoy using Evolution. I like that you can hack the keybindings and the css theme, and that it works with Microsoft Exchange for mail and calendar sync, required at work.

  • I'm also feeling a price raise in DK. At least I'd rather pay 20usd than 159dkk.

It doesn't matter, but just FYI. And I didn't check the previous price in the app.

  • Ditto, but I see blank "posts" here and there saying Supported content or something such.

  • Ah, OK, thanks. Nice with so much redundancy!

Kinda odd that you'd still be able to comment, even if the original is unavailable, but also nice.

Say A comes up again. Will comments I made on B while it was down be pushed over?

  • I'm fully keyboard driven in my current editor, the issue is not that. It's that the symbols I type show up with a noticeable delay. It's like IRL lag.

  • No idea about language. I cans still see the non-English instance I'm on, but I check that deliberately as there's not a lot of traffic.

  • If you post a new comment, it won't leave your instance, but all the old posts/comments will still be there.

Could you clarify this for me? Say I follow a community on instance A with an instance B account. Then the community is mirrored on B, including comments. I comment on a post. Then is my comment stored on both A and B?

  • plus it is a subscription model.

There is a non-subscription model that also disables the admob tracking.

    I am pro-facts

    But not nuances, it feels.

  • What was/is it?

  • But Lemmy is, so it's still a relevant answer, no?

If I asked "What word processors can Libre Office Writer collaborate with?", would Microsoft Word be an off-topic answer?

  • Sync followed by Jerboa, for me.
