At this point it seems much more likely that the US sides with Russia than China. The EU is their largest trading partner, they'd never risk losing that market.

Google Street View wasn't updated for 15 years in Germany because of that. There was a huge drama when it was first announced and people were scared it would be used by criminals to scout buildings, leading to everyone blurring their houses. It got so bad that Google basically just gave up.

Another Quinnipiac poll from last month determined 45 percent approved of Trump’s performance and 49 percent disapproved.

Russia is not a serious country. The demands are essentially a shitpost. It's one of the most delusional things I've seen in a while.

The way I understood it is that the "lite" version of the launcher is embedded in the main menu of the game. I remember 2K games doing the same thing for some titles and adding the full launcher in a patch a few months after release.

What are the chances that the launcher gets patched in after release? Wouldn't be the first time.

I'd bet that Ukraine is banking on Russia not agreeing to the ceasefire. This way they can utilize the US support a little longer while also shopping for alternatives. The US will not be a reliable partner in any case, but it might still be enough to hold on for now.

Reddit fingerprints your browser and logs your IP address. Using a different browser/User Agent switcher and a VPN will get around it though.

From what I've seen it's mostly mods of specific subreddits removing comments that promote Lemmy. A few instances do get caught in the site-wide spam filter though.
