  • Yeah, that's not a fun situation to be in. Are you fortunate enough to have sick time that you can use for this unplanned event?

  • Color me absolutely not shocked. Corporations are always going to lie. I don't trust a word they say.

  • I go from newest to oldest.

  • I am often thought of as an asshole because I am not much of a smiler and much of my politeness is perfunctory. I am somewhat reclusive and a loner by nature. I find my time at work having to mask exhausting and overstimulating. That much said, once people get to know me they generally discover that I am passionate and care deeply for people who are suffering or experience discrimination and will fight for them.

  • Billionaire philanthropy is a billion dollar oxymoron. They would not need to be philanthropic at all if they didn't steal resources below wholesale from the 99%.

  • Right wing rage bait drives engagement which in turn drives up the cost of advertising and gives them more revenue. This is really why everyone needs to abandon corporate social media in droves.

  • In the end, I see Red Hat's behavior as a net win for the open source community. It's going to drive Linux innovation harder. Ironically, the is a net loss for Red Hat. It's a serious self-inflicted wound.

  • That's actually a really good question. I suspect that many feel mutual aid groups are scamming for assistance when they don't really need it. Personally, I'd rather provide direct assistance than go through a charity when I see what charities like Good Will pay their CEOs. It's obscene.

  • The sad thing is that Turkey is depending on a for-profit Big Tech company that only cares as long as the bill is being paid.

  • I don't even wanna know what my energy bill is going to be because this summer has been brutal.

  • That is a 3 fold difference though!

  • One man's terrorism is another man's freedom. It's all about perspective and what the person has to gain or lose.

  • Don't you just love it when the justification for fascism becomes, "What about the kids?" I am not saying that this is necessarily the case in this instance, but it's a common refrain for breaking technology and taking away rights by the authoritarian state.

  • I've found that the case for most CEOs in technology which is why I call them techbros. Arguably, they don't even know business all that well either.

  • This would be a good start but I have a feeling this will fall on deaf ears. Biden is no champion of the poor and working class despite claims to the contrary.

  • This isn't easy because so many songs have lyrics that I love. But if I absolutely had to choose one, I would choose Don't Let Me Come Home A Stranger by Robin and Linda Williams. The lyrics are hauntingly beautiful.
