Yeah, I dont think it's a problem of lack of interest but one of resources. You literally need in the 100s of terabytes of storage space, especially for HD videos.
The goals of federated social media and corporate social media. Unlike siloed corporate social media, the fediverse platforms are not meant to compete with one another for being the 'top dog' so to speak. The idea is just diversity amongst the platforms and different options for people with different preferences. Since the fediverse is not concerned with revenue or appealing to a venture capitalist, competition is unimportant and I hope it stays that way.
You're damn straight nobody wants to work anymore. They don't want to work for poverty wages, being forced to be indentured servants to their employers, and having no work/life balance. I mean can you really blame them?
Good on them! Joining up is a scam. You get to trade your life for possibly getting a chance to further your education; that is if you don't die during your service. And then, who's freedom do you end up really fighting for because you end up fighting a foreign war? You end up fighting a war to enrich the billionaires more. Once your service is up, if you are unfortunate enough to have real and tangible mental trauma, you're cast aside like someone who's shelf life has expired. Fuck #Amurica.
No billionaire has done any good for humanity. Yes, even Bill Gates has not done a whole lot of good. He was caught red-handed donating to charities with conflicting missions with each other. Billionaires should not exist.
I will likely have to do the same if I am working for a company. The initial work I will most likely do though is personal projects to build a portfolio and showcase what I can do. All that stuff will be GPLv3.
I really don't know why. There are a plethora of good articles and tutorials out there. Perhaps it would be helpful to understand what In particular makes it challenging for many so I could write a targeted article
Once I complete my web development class, I fully plan on using the GPLv3 for all of my work. I am all about free/open source. I feel like corporations need to be forced to give back to open source and not just be fucking leeches.
