  • As a music producer working with a different AI to change my voice, this is not great.

I mean sure they are saving money, but probably with the wrong thing. QA is such a major aspect of this and QA will get neglected in this. This will result in translations that are disjointed from the plot, or straight up really bad quality, because double checking is where costs are saved here probably.

  • Yeah I'm not doing bad physically but mentally for sure. I always celebrate Christmas with my brother and his girlfriend and my dad and his new girlfriend, and they leave in the afternoon. I don't have a gf. Which means every year on Christmas I get to feel a bit less and finally a bit more alone then usual. And because I'm alone for the rest of the day that sucks.

  • Ah that actually makes a lot of sense.

You don't pay for the porn, you pay for the interaction, seeing a different side of a public person or for the feeling of knowing a secret.

Btw just to make sure, I am not being ironic here I actually never thought of it that way.

  • And once again it shows, if you wanna surpass a company you don't do it by attacking them, but by providing superior service or product.

Now let's look at why they are failing: Epic Games got some good original games. BUT: they are trying to buy exclusive licenses to force players to use their client, and they didn't even make sure their client makes for an ok experience. The menus feel sluggish and blank (except for the store which is ok at best and very inconvenient to browse), the ratio of clicks per functions is very bad, the function range is very lacking and things haven't changed over the last 4 years.

Let's acknowledge that in addition there's quite a few bugs still roaming around. For example: for about a year now I am unable to open the friends list in any way shape or form.

  • The best answer will require a very technical understanding, but I'll give it a try and stay abstract.

The AI is trained using images. If you type in things like "a tree" it has a vague idea of what it looks like.

The thing is writing letters is a hard concept. How should the AI know text is made up of letters? Connected lines make a letter and unconnected ones don't. Sentences are connected using dots.

Easy enough for us, you have to imagine an AI is best with what it can directly observe. But knowing when to literally write out letters is hard. So it has a stroke. It has a vague notion of "this is where text is supposed to go" but making the letters look right in an adjusted font, remembering where letters end and how words are spaced; all of this is far too complex.

Now I haven't looked into it for AIs who CAN generate text more well, but I assume the only they do this is by deciding "there's gonna be text" and then using another process to insert the text basically after the fact. Or maybe there's some special process change in the training or inference of the image going on? Idk, for this one I need an expert.

  • "why didn't he make a run for it" if you realise you will be tried, it is too late. If you try to flee somewhere without a good reason, they will hold you and arrest you.

He's not a genius, but he's also not a total idiot. He knows.

  • And then there's also a difference between being intelligent and being smart. If you are intelligent, you might know how to cheat in a videogame. But if you are smart, you know that this a bad idea because of a plethora of reasons.

  • Have been living together with my brother with only one wall in between that has nothing in between and let me tell you: two drywalls with air in between resonates just right on a mechanical keyboard at 2am. Now obviously floors have quite different standards even just when it comes to the load they have to carry, but that said, there's things that make it better and worse. Carpets can be good, dampening in between is good, putting little silicon plates in between stuff that connects to the floor is also good.

And then ofc if they decided to start dropping pianos on the daily, that might make a difference.

Either way, talking to them is probably the best option. There's not really much you can do about noise from the floor above you.

  • good thing is, apple and Google will get so much antitrust shit for their app stores in the near future from the EU, they will be forced to make side loading a thing at some point. So the only thing for the US to do is to get their laws together to make it legally binding for them as well.

  • Def skim the top rated civitai models with a common workflow for it you find online if you use comfyui. Also, if you want the best quality, check out hiresfix and skim through the shared pictures to find out your ideal settings range for the sampler and stuff.

I can recommend SDXL workflows & models. Turbo is very good but it's still a bit unstable. Expect it to get more stable top rated models in like 2-3 months.
