  • I always check my flatpak settings post install before running the app and adjust permissions according to need. I mean it does offer more security to me since it's user installed, I can granularly update permissions and control more or less where and what is can touch.

Alternatives to this are SELinux,AppArmour and firejails which are slightly more inconvenient to use.

To me that is mostly secure,or secure enough.

Well and then there's some immutable distros which might help overall.

    Edit: paragraphs

  • That's just sad. I invested so much time grinding my way through this game and engineering my 6 ships and getting a fleet carrier only to be ultimately disappointed by the lack of content and lackluster updates.

It saddens me that I now have to look forward to that mess of a tech demo called Star Citizen, but I've already burned my money on that too, so I'm only left with a dream.

  • I'm a long time arch with plasma user and recently tried arch with gnome and couldn't get into it, so decided to try something new so I switched to Fedora Kinoite and yes, updates are incredibly slow. I mean it's ridiculous really when compared to arch, but the distro seems solid ( curious how long I'll last before inevitably going back to arch).

  • It felt this way for me for my last Samsung S10. Their android become an unusable mess, bloated to the brink,so I switched it to Lineage. It felt like a different phone.

That phone alone determined me to go for Pixels which allow relocking bootloader with custom roms.

  • I mean 8 years to release an early access title that uses gzdoom?

I hope it works out for them and not turn into another one of those 'make a game for fun' experiments that gets abandoned along the way.

    Edit : typo

  • This is still a glorified tech demo and a walking simulator with ships. Gunplay is pretty sad,pvp is out of the question with that performance, gameplay loops are either bugged to hell or boring as hell.

Instead of adding more ships they should be focusing on polishing and improving what they currently have at least. It's sad really.

  • What's more curious to me is what kind of people are those that resort to such lows?

I mean they might have mental issues, yes, but it's scary to see that people seemingly intelligent and able to create games (asset flipping not included) can have such low morals and problem solving capabilities.

  • My Samsung Tv from 2013 appreciates this post.

I unfortunately am using a firetv 2nd gen with it and it's horrendous. I also use a xiomi mi stick, which is also horrendous (shitty hardware).

I want dumb but good panels,no smart features please. Does anything like this even exist anymore?

  • There's some BS happening around Linux support from some devs. e.g. Metro Exodus is Linux native, Metro Exodus Enhanced is Windows only and doesn't work with AMD GPUs.

I bought the game twice (made a mistake and bought it on Epic at launch and now bought it again on Steam to support Linux development and companies that release native builds).

I'm disappointed to see I'm unable to play the Enhanced version.

  • Even though I agree for the most part about Cyberpunk,I did finish it ,but skipped parts of story by doing the worse ending. I intend to start a new game after Phantom Liberty dlc comes out just cause I'm curious about the improvements.

Starfield... Now I never liked Bethesda games and could never finish most. I did finish FO4,but was very very bored by the end and rushed it. Starfield is just so bland and has so many mixed ideas and mechanics from other games it just feels like it can't make up its mind what it wants to be. And the combat... Cyberpunk feels like a combat masterpiece compared to Starfield and Star Citizen the same (despite all issues) for the space part. Starfield just can't draw me in.
