  • Man you are insightful, truly. If I look at my old comments I’ve clearly engaged in my own “Reddit performative snark” over here (Kbin for me). I appreciate your helping me notice that. I’m glad we corrected the course of our conversation here and I look forward to many great ones in the future. Thanks for sharing all this.

Funny to see you with the Loki take by the way. Didn’t realize you were the same person.

  • This was a fantastic read, thank you.

  • You’re really driving at something that I’ve struggled to express about the show. I’m not sure you quite nailed what I felt but you’re really close to articulating something I can’t quite put my finger on.

  • It’s because people so badly want to believe the government spends every day threading its fingers going “yes…yes…how shall we dupe the public today?”

99% of what the government does is incredibly boring and does not revolve around you. It’s important. But boring.

  • Ehhhhh I get that but my main gripes are 1) the joy cons and 2) literally no changes for the OLED

  • I am not sure the issue is clear here but I’ll put it another way.

If I roll a D100 and get a number - any number - there was a 1% chance I’d get that number. Whether that number has value to me, such as rolling a 100 for a good outcome or a 1 for a terrible one, is immaterial. Every single outcome is 1% likely to happen.

Should I discount the 1% chance outcome just because i got the exact outcome I did or didn’t want?

  • Ok so it is likely?

No but to be blunt it has little to no bearing on the discussion to decide if it is or isn’t likely. Whether it’s likely or not is immaterial unless you’re gambling or building policy/making decisions around it. It doesn’t impact the results.

  • This is the exact same logic that leads to “stop the steal” and pizzagate nonsense

  • I feel the price was already a little high at launch (since they are adamant about making a profit on hardware as opposed to Sony/Microsoft who sell at a loss) so the addition of a more expensive screen would’ve probably pushed the price too high tbh. It was 2017, OLED’s were still pretty new and very expensive.

  • The OLED switch was nice, but it’s what the switch should’ve been from day one.

The processor was long in the tooth and the joycons were unacceptably flawed on day one. The OLED switch changed none of these things and it still frustrates me a lot that people weren’t more critical of it tbh.

  • The numbers aren’t the issue. You can’t say “something happened that was very unlikely therefore the number saying it’s unlikely was wrong.”

  • I simply do not understand this bizarre impulse by grown adults to translate “we don’t know and need some time to get to the bottom of it before we cause a total panic over 10% of the story” into “total lack of transparency by the government.”

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration has established a separate panel tasked with reviewing nonclassified data on UAP. The team plans to issue a report on its findings this summer.

I’m sitting tight until this comes out and proves interesting.

  • As a general rule, nobody should be hitting anyone else.

    Yes

    Gender is irrelevant.

Well yes and no. Gender is a social construct. You probably mean “(biological) sex,” which is very relevant.

  • I get what you’re trying to do man but frankly I’m not interested in this pissing match. Have a good one.

  • I was talking about Dr. Phil. I was correct about what I said. A misunderstanding made you come to the (passionate) defense of Jordan Peterson, someone I was not talking about but I understand why you thought so. The correct response is “ah my bad.” Not “well if you had said what I thought you did I’d be right.” Feel free to keep doing what you’re doing though I guess. I’m sorry you feel the need to keep coming after me despite my identifying the issue lol

  • Glad that was cleared up I guess lol
