  • If you have a mouse, try Ctrl+left click or maybe click the mouse wheel. If it's a touchscreen, try long-pressing a link to get your new tab option.

And now you don't need an account for that site. Have a nice account death?

  • There's more evidence for Trump being the literal Antichrist than there is for him following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I asked Kagi's LLM AI about this and here's what it said:

Whether there is more evidence for Donald Trump being the Antichrist than for him following the teachings of Jesus Christ is subjective and depends on the interpretation of biblical texts and the definition of "evidence."

Some argue that Trump fulfills biblical descriptions of the Antichrist, pointing to his political actions and public image 12. Others, including some Christians, dismiss the idea that Trump is the Antichrist 34. Some believe the Antichrist will appear as a supporter of Christianity 2. Conversely, some equate the unjust persecution of Trump to the crucifixion of Christ 5.

The first letter of John refers to "many antichrists" 6. Some sources suggest that the idea of Trump as the Antichrist became more prominent during his presidency 7.

  • Tony Hawk Pro Skater (the first one is the only one exclusive to PlayStation 1, THPS 2 and 3 came out on PS2)

Hi! I'm an 0Ld Tony Hawk player, so let me break it down. Mouseover the acronyms for full titles if your client supports it.

THPS1 and THPS2 were PS1 first, and then ported to Dreamcast, N64, and PC. THPS2 also got a weird Xbox port with THPS1 levels in it. That's not counting the portable versions and later HD remakes.
THPS3, THPS4, THUG1, THUG2, and THAW were all PS2/Xbox/GameCube first, and eventually PC too. The PS1, N64, and GBA got demakes of some of these games using the THPS2 engine, and they don't feel right. THUG1's PC port was exclusive to Australia and New Zealand 🤨. THUG2 has a PSP port. THUG2 PC mod THUG Pro is where the THPS community lives now. THAW has fantastic ports on DS and 360.
THP8 and THPG were 360/PS3-exclusive, but THP8 was eventually ported to PS2.
THPG and THDJ for DS were actually pretty good. Only the DS versions though.
We don't talk about Robomodo's games.

  • Some more I haven't seen mentioned yet, maybe just outside the top 25:

    • Rapid Reload/Gunner's Heaven - Gunstar Heroes-inspired platform shooting chaos
    • Jumping Flash! - Low poly early FPS series with a robot bunny that jumps really high
    • Bishi Bashi Special - Compete with your friends in WarioWare-like rapid-fire three button minigames
    • Vanark - Basically Star Fox 64 for the PS1, but went almost entirely unnoticed
    • The Misadventures of Tron Bonne - Mega Man Legends spinoff starring goofy pirates and their adorable robot henchmen
    • Tail Concerto and Silent Bomber - CyberConnect2's first two games; both are hidden gems of 3D action
    • Gran Turismo 2 Combined Disc - Both discs combined into one oversized disc by Silent, creator of SilentPatch for the Grand Theft Auto games
    • Namco Museum (all six volumes) - I wish later Namco compilations had the first-person museum segments from the PS1 games
    • Tempest X3 - Back in my day, "Jeff Minter" was a euphemism for mind-altering drugs
  • lm.korako.me is a Japanese Lemmy instance run by @karasu_sue@lm.korako.me . It's small, but it counts!

I'd love to see a revised map with all these ones from the comments added in.

  • If the Democrats had any guts, they'd revolt against their leadership and re-organize into a new far more aggressive left-leaning party. But they don't have any guts, so that won't happen. Maybe the new DNC chair can channel our anger into change?

  • Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - Arcade

A timeless masterpiece of 2D fighting with beautiful sprite work and a banger soundtrack. Other fighting games come and go, but we still play this one online and in tournaments 25 years later.

  • I still boot this game up every now and then to knee fools across the screen. I need to try the PC Engine CD remake someday.

  • My all-time favorite game. It's peak 2D Mario. SMB3 speedrunning is fun. Glitches are fun. It will challenge you, but almost every level is fair.

NES version really showed off what the MMC3 chip can do. Super Mario All-Stars has a surprisingly deep 2-player Battle Game based on Mario Bros. Wii U/Switch versions of Super Mario Advance 4 contain all 38 e-Reader levels with some wild new gimmicks and combinations.

  • There are better Zelda games. ALTTP is clever, for sure, but the path through the game has too many obtuse moments. I don't know how I would have gotten through it the first time without Nintendo Power magazine. I liked Link's Awakening and Link Between Worlds more, though without Link to the Past, we wouldn't have those games.

Now, the Super Metroid and A Link to the Past Randomizer is an incredible achievement and a must-play for people who have finished both original games.

  • My RG35XX Plus is running Knulli. It's not quite as great as GarlicOS on my old RG35XX, but it does what I need it to. I haven't tried Bluetooth controllers with those, though.

  • Pretty good for the price! My main gaming machine is a $60 Anberbic handheld. I had to install a better OS and the tiny best set myself, and it struggles running Dreamcast and PSP games, but it actually feels good to play.

  • Nah, that's a PAL Mega Drive. It runs 16% slower than a Genesis and the graphics are vertically squished. They buried it so they could use the better NTSC models.
