I have to say I'm really impressed with James Vowles. The way he leads the team by example and shields them from unfair or unjust criticism is just refreshing to see. Williams seem to have a long term plan and want to stick with it, which seems very reasonable to me in this kind of environment. You won't make any significant progress by changing direction every couple of months.
I also appreciate the context they provide which is especially important in such a competitive sport. I really hope Sargeant can continue to improve, he seems like a good kid and I wouldn't want to change seats with him. You could feel the pressure when he tried to force a correction in suzuka qualifying by just using brute force in the last corner. you could feel the desperation and it was horrible.
Oh, and one other issue. I think the incident in the race with bottas was at least 50/50 between the two. If you watch the replay, sargeant already locks up his front right before valteri is even alongside him and it only got worse after that. Once he unloaded the front left and locked up, there was no stopping the car before the apex. valteri never had a chance making it on the outside. Sure, sargeant locked up, but valteri can't say he was surprised by this since the lock up already started before he overtook him.
Well, sending him out again made sense from a team perspective. But it is not really sportsmanship like behavior, that is for sure.
Reminded me of the team orders in 2021 DTM finale. Sure you can order the first three drivers to slow down because that is the only way to win the championship, but nobody's going to respect you for it.
Hmm, maybe. Depends on the infrastructure they put up. If there is a separate domain for the telemetry, then you can block it. Still no guarantee that it still works though.
The app will need internet access to login though. That really is a cat and mouse game that is not worth your time I'd say.
I regularly comments from users who were not aware or the financial situation. Maybe "we" need to promote it a bit more. But it is 332 per week, not month. At the beginning of the last migration it stood at 40 something, so we at least got some traction.
Thanks for the update and thanks for the work guys, I really appreciate it
LONDON, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Volvo Cars (VOLCARb.ST) said on Tuesday that it will end production of any remaining diesel models by early 2024 as it heads towards becoming an all-electric carmaker.
"In a few months from now, the last diesel-powered Volvo car will have been built, making Volvo Cars one of the first legacy car makers to take this step," the Swedish company said in a statement.
Majority owned by China's Geely (0175.HK), Volvo has committed to going fully electric by 2030.
While a majority of the cars Volvo sold in Europe were diesel as recently as 2019, in 2022 they made up just 8.9% of the Swedish carmaker's sales.
In August 33% of Volvo's sales were fully-electric or hybrid models. The company did not break out how many of the remaining 67% combustion-engine models were diesel and how many ran on petrol.
Sales of diesel models have declined rapidly in Europe since Volkswagen's (VOWG_p.DE) emission-cheating scandal and carmakers have been gradually reducing the number of diesel models available in their model lineups.
Diesel vehicles comprised more than 50% of Europe's new car sales in 2015, but accounted for just over 14% of sales in July
Just so that you're aware, this is only for the regular 12h(6h) race, not for the F1 action.
Can I watch Red Bull Formula Nürburgring online?
No, you can only experience the event live on site. But of course you'll find plenty of photos and videos on social media afterwards. As usual, the Nürburgring Endurance Series will be broadcast on our YouTube channel.
I have tickets for tomorrow, I'll try to snatch a couple of pictures/videos of the event and might post them here if there is interest.
The CIA also realized that, despite Ames' annual salary being $60,000, he could afford:
A $540,000 house in Arlington, Virginia, paid for in cash
A $50,000 Jaguar luxury car
Home remodeling and redecoration costs of $99,000
Monthly phone bills exceeding $6,000, mostly calls by Ames' wife to her family in Colombia
Premium credit cards, on which the minimum monthly payment exceeded his monthly salary
In March 1993, the CIA and FBI began an intensive investigation of Ames that included electronic surveillance, combing through his trash and the installation of a monitor in his car to track his movements. From November 1993 until his arrest, Ames was kept under virtually constant physical surveillance. When, in early 1994, he was scheduled to attend a conference in Moscow, the FBI believed it could wait no longer, and he and his wife were arrested on February 21
It is not our favorite energy source anymore, the plan is to get rid of themynot build more of them. Yes, there was an increase last year, but that was related to the gas situation with russia.
Northrine Westphalia just dumped the minium required distance for wind turbines, so we will see a huge boost of them (hopefully)
Drought is not as much a problem in Germany as it is on the southern states like France and Spain, but groundwater is going down. Everywhere. And like OP said, France had to limit the output of their reactors due to water shortages.
Not OP, but here are my 2 cents. You can't really go wrong with that degree imho. Even if you only land an entry level job at the beginning, you can quickly advance from there. You just to have keep learning.
If you haven't done so already, get a raspberry pi, install docker, get used to how it works. Destroy everything, start over. Get another pi, learn kubernetes.
You can stand out and succeed if you can learn and adapt to new technologies. The system doesn't matter, it's how you approach it.
No, at least not in Germany. We leave that to angry civilians in their cars and trucks. We had a couple of instances, but nothing to serious fortunately.
The judge said he hoped the punishment would deter those dissatisfied by future election outcomes, showing that there is an “unambiguous and serious line” that cannot be crossed when contacting public officials.
I think this is a horrible argument. The dude should be punished under the law for the crimes HE has committed. Other people shouldn't play a role in the judgement, as reprehensible as his actions were.
Other than that, very good read, but as always, it won't reach the people that really should read it.
Does anybody know whether they're planning to use all these convictions against trump supporters in the trial against trump? I bet there are a lot of testimonies stating that they wouldn't have done xyz if Trump hadn't riled them up.
That seems fairly obvious and hard to miss.
