How is the Piracy community adapting to port forwarding becoming a rarer premium feature, and most users on public trackers do not have it? Is the bitorrent protocol in need of update?

  • Oh I'm definitely cynical, sometimes too much so, but its often warranted.

    You're right, though, just because the (vast) majority are money grabs doesnt mean they all are. Lots of businesses are started by someone trying to figure out how to make a living doing something they love. Or genuinely trying to solve a problem, money being secondary. I've never had that drive, but I do know e.g. artists who are "in business" for themselves and quite happy at it.

  • My first computer job was at a college that used names from ancient history and mythology. So I mostly still do that. Medea is my plex server. Zeus and Hera are the hosts for docker and VMs. Heimdall is the router.

    The only break in the pattern is my storage, which is currently NASC and NASD...

    Oh and my personal machine used to be HAL_9000 (complete with wallpaper and theme sounds) but now I just name it "box."

  • Iirc, Orban blocked some. They are also at least somewhat justifiably concerned about Putin's nukes.

    That said, there were restrictions on spending borrowed money for defense. Annnd why not let the US foot the bill if they were willing? Well this is why.

    The US can no longer be trusted as a reliable defense partner, much as it pains me to admit it. I bet there are a lot of F-35 purchasers doing some serious soul-searching right about now. Macron sure seemed pretty (justifiably) smug about being able to offer to extend their nuclear umbrella.

  • I listed them first too, despite never having had them (raised vegetarian.) Ive been meaning to try my hand at making them with some "vegan pepperoni", but I suspect I'd hate it because Ive spent my life avoiding things that taste like meat.
