  • Yeah, they solved that over a decade ago. Both iOS and Android let you override DnD for contacts and or repeat callers.

  • Are we looking at different pictures? To me the DMR looks to be a mk14 EBR.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mk_14_Enhanced_Battle_Rifle

A rifle that is notoriously difficult to accurize being used as a DMR. Not a bad battle rifle per se, but as a DMR it is worse in just about every way than a more modern LR308/AR10, or even an FNAR, etc.

  • Also oxygen..

  • Really? Everything else was fine but this is a bridge too far?

  • You've heard the saying "misery loves company?"

  • Almost as if that's the whole point.

  • I learned only relatively recently that borsch (which I love for the beets) was originally made without beets. I still haven't found a recipe I like and we don't get sorrel here.

  • Nice. I was just realizing that Rhodey also played a role in Secret Invasion (and what if), so I might need to re-watch parts of that. Or maybe just a synopsis. I didnt love that show either.

  • I want an MCU where Don Cheadle gets a movie instead of (or at least in addition to) Anthony Mackie. I watched all of Falcon and the Winter Soldier and while it wasnt bad, as such, it definitely did not leave me wanting more. I'd offer the same criticism; it felt empty.

Not that Cheadle would necessarily want to do that movie in this timeline. I can't imagine an Iron Patriot movie being anything but fraught politically. And I guess being the action hero wouldnt really show off his acting chops. But ... Well we can dream, can't we?

  • At young software companies, there is usually N+1 person who is basically a swiss army knife for the product, to "do it all": Presales, Professional Services, Tier 3 support, Software Engineer, Architect, security explainer, Product Management, documenter of strange conventions that nevertheless must be adhered to, and et cetera. Annoy this person at your peril.

  • The other day we were playing a video game and my 5 year old shouted "DO AN AILERON ROLL!!"

We must be doing something right.

  • Ironically, my overly chatty doctor was ranting about how methadone is a racket and they string people along for years instead of titrating them off. He prescribes Suboxone, apparently.

  • Thr American Medical Association lobbied Congress to limit how many residency positions they open up. This artificial constraint reduces the supply of doctors so that they can keep their wallets fat.

  • No, I'm just odd. :D

  • This is exactly the type of simple equation that always drove me nuts in school. I could take one look at that and my brain fucking just knows the answer. It takes me like 10 times as long to write it down to show my work (not that it is hard here, but my brain does not supply that part by default.) This is why I had to re-take Algebra 2. The way they made us do things just didn't work for my brain. When it does work, math can be fun, but usually the our teachers taught it made everything super dull. Maybe when my kids get there, they can teach me the new ways.

  • Wherein the pro-Assad coalition enters the phase known as FO, which here stands for "finding out what annoyed JTAC can do."
