  • Why Florida? I don't know, maybe because the Lightning consistently have some of the highest attendance in the fucking league? If you're going to ask "What about the Panthers?" I'll retort "What about the Senators?"

Why Arizona? Stupid question to ask when a team in Las Vegas just won the Cup. The real question is "Why Arizona STILL?"

  • Not defending Bettman in any way, because I can't believe he still has his job with how shit he is at TV deals (if you think he's bad though, check out what it takes to watch the NFL).

It's hard to argue against the number of teams in CA and FL when they more often than not have better attendance than most of the Canadian teams. People are showing up, even in oddball markets like Nashville. Seattle and Las Vegas have already seen postseason play, with one winning the Cup, and their attendance is solid so expansion is obviously a good thing...

...all of which I mention to make the absolute shitshow of the Coyotes look even fucking worse. The team should have folded a decade ago.

THEY PLAY IN A COLLEGE HOCKEY ARENA.

Absolute amateur hour. This isn't like an NFL team playing in a D1 college stadium. That's happened before, but in that case those stadiums are just as large with nearly the same class of facilities. For it to be a comparable reduction in seats an NFL team would have to be playing at a frickin' Texas high school field.

Arizona barely gives a shit about hockey. Want to open things up? Move 'em to El Paso, which I think it still the largest metro area without a big four pro sports team. You can even keep the name. Or move them to Portland. Milwaukee? Fuckin' SLC? ANYWHERE?

For Phoenix alone Bettman should have been gone years ago.

  • You know what else isn't there yet? Unity, Unreal, Source, CryEngine... literally every commercial game engine requires development if you're actually looking to push hardware limits. They're just toolboxes.

Godot is no different, except that developers are going to be much more likely to release their changes publicly.

  • No, Taco Bell won because WHO THE FUCK IS TACO JOHN'S AND WHY THE FUCK DO THEY OWN TACO TUESDAY?

Did you know that two companies had ownership of that trademark? Does anyone associate "Taco Tuesday" with anything but being alliterative? Do people immediately think of Taco John's or Gregory's when they hear "Taco Tuesday?"

    No.

They probably think of every elementary school that had a Taco Tuesday at least once a month. They probably think of the Lego Movie. They probably think they're hilarious and just made it up for the first time.

Even if you knew of Taco John's and knew they had Taco Tuesday, did you know that it was their trademark?

Taco John's did not relinquish the mark because they couldn't fight it. They relinquished it for the same reason Gregory's did... they knew their claim to the mark was MINIMAL at best and it would be trivial to show common usage of the term that would render it generic.

  • Oh, you think that's bad? Check the Texrail map. It's the light rail line for Fort Worth, Texas.

It's literally one line that goes from downtown to DFW airport. There's a planned expansion that will push it slightly further further west to the medical district... in downtown.

And don't even get me started on the bus line intervals. The one that's closest to me runs HOURLY. It may as well not even fucking exist, and I think that's the idea.

  • No shit. If you need to move people just look at where the most people are moved... airports. Every major airport has buses and rail in and out. There's no reason for cities to be built around individual transport when individuals are rarely transporting more than themselves.

  • You're reading the sentence wrong. Because it was written stupid. Maybe? I think?

What I THINK they're trying to say is that the models and plugins were ported from FO3 and FNV, but only New Vegas has the ability to be played at this time, albeit without quests or NPCs. So you can run around but not much else.

  • I miss when LPL's videos contained actual information.

Every video for a couple of years now is the same thing.

    • Throw shade at the manufacturer in the intro.
    • Use some tool he sells on his website to defeat the lock.
    • Throw some more shade.
    • Never elaborate on any of the internal mechanisms, just reiterate that it can be defeated with this tool he sells at his shop.

Go back a few years and you'll see the difference. The channel is really just two minute ads for his shop now.

  • The plank has nothing to do with porpoising. It's been in place since the mid 90's and was instituted to enforce minimum ride height rules after Ayrton Senna's death. The ground effect cars that suffer from porpoising have only been legal for a couple of years.

  • Triggered a wee bit?

    • It has the plank as a check on ride heights. It was instituted after Ayrton Senna's death, which was caused by the FIA's short-sighted ban on active suspension. The imbeciles that claim it's for porpoising have no clue what they're talking about and need to be ignored. It's almost thirty years old and porpoising is a problem caused by ground effect cars that have only been legal for a couple of years.
    • Nobody said anything about checking every part. Learn to fucking read. They already extract fuel and weigh the cars. You cannot tell me the FIA doesn't know how to have a wear part manufactured so there's a visual indicator of said wear and then shove a fuckin' camera under the weighbridge. Hey, guess what? This is already a solved problem. Visual wear indicators exist everywhere.
    • No fucking clue what you're on about with AI. Maybe you're just compensating for your prior ignorance?
    • And yet you persist.
    • "Hey Siri, what does 'facetious' mean?"
    • You fail to understand that the problem is not this time, it's literally every race weekend where a small portion of the cars are checked for compliance rather than all of them.
    • Yes, the FIA is in fact supposed to predict the future to the best of their abilities. That's kind of what you do as a governing body. That's why you have parc ferme. You predict that the teams will try to cheat their balls off. That's why you have the plank. Because you predicted that teams would try to cheat their balls off. If this part is so important, an external part that you can visually inspect for wear, then there is no question that it should always have been inspected on every car after every race otherwise the whole thing is meaningless. Then again, most things the FIA does are in fact completely meaningless because they can't even enforce their own rules four times out of five."But Red Bull didn't break the rules!" You have no idea who broke the rules because the majority of the cars on the grid were not inspected, including Red Bull's other car. That's the problem.

Some changes will come from this. Hopefully they'll finally ditch the stupid fucking plank that no other motorsport, to my knowledge, needs to enforce arbitrary ride height rules.
