  • creators to jump ship

that's why I said it's impossible - it the same kind of monopoly Steam has in that it's impossible for the creators to NOT be on that platform because of the size it has but unlike Steam Youtube has started acting anti-consumer now instead of just anti-creator as in the past

  • In Germany it's really risky to use torrents in general since there are lawyers that are specialised in sending people very high bills for seeding.

Most people know someone that got one of those bills over a couple of thousand euros so a lot of people are a bit traumatized when it comes to using torrents here.

  • This could be insanely important for the European Union if Poland isn't blocking sanctions against Hungary by default anymore.

But it wouldn't be surprised if Italy is taking their spot in protecting antidemocratic populism now...

  • I mean they are not entirely wrong with the colonization aspect. What Hamas is doing is indefensible but Israel is behaving like an oppressor, too. Especially with Netanyahu actually interested in diverting people's attention towards an outside enemy instead of his corruption trial.

That whole conflict has no side that's "right" anymore and both sides are too stubborn to actually make concessions with each other (especially after Hamas go in power and jeopardized the Oslo agreement"

  • Noone is forcing anyone to eat meat or fly

Sure the 0,1% polluting 1000 times as much as average people is really shitty but just cutting their emissions down will not solve the problem

Making huge changes among the population is necessary, too.

Obviously you need to tackle the rich, too, in order to get the population on your side but for laws to happen you also need a decent part of the population already agreeing with that law and living by it.

  • I believe that's also a reason for the rise of racism we see today

People subconsciously know that their wealth (even if it's not much it's still better than that of people born in most parts of Africa or Asia) is mostly built on exploiting those people historically

Then either you have to give up some of that power and wealth if you accept that they are just as human as you or just have to draw a line and look down on them

  • It's just a fundamentally flawed system since it's always easier to campaign AGAINST something instead of FOR something since the moment you make a constructive offer you're making yourself attachable while being destructive works without being open for attacks of any kind

Normally this can be resolved by there being too many parties and too many different viewpoints to oppose all of them without being crazy - but with just two parties it gets too easy to see every of those two as a single entity as and just oppose whatever they are doing
