Aw man if you've done what you can to answer their questions, it's totally fair to just time out and get back to your life at least for today. Boundaries are hard to draw with family but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes :(
Aww big hugs. I know that feeling. Messages from family give me a lot of anxiety and I try to ignore it too. I try to find some distraction, get some shit done before I have the strength to look and respond. It's not a nice feeling. Sorry not very helpful but hope you feel better soon...
Congrats! I didn't do it for that long but the freelance life can definitely take a mental toll in various ways. It's good to be away from it for a while to give you a different perspective and I think you're right in reflecting on what didn't work so well in the past and try and put in measures to prevent the same from happening. Sounds like you're cut out for this though so hope this is a new beginning!
Checking my transactions and the highlight is a $6.10 coffee with a 6 cent surcharge that was not announced or written anywhere at the register. Well that is above my coffee cost tolerance threshold to start with and the unannounced surcharge tipped me over the edge so they will not be seeing me again.
Eagerly waiting for it to tick past noon so I can have lunch. Slightly rough morning where my laptop shat itself 5 mins into a one on one meet and greet and now asked to be postponed. Need a bit of comfort.
It's sad and disappointing when you think you could be nice and they'd reciprocate but really they can't give a shit about you and maybe laugh at you behind your back for being naive. It's also sad that these bad experiences leave you wondering if others are going to be the same and you just end up being less trusting.
I'm naive AF and I probably treat people with too much trust but I've recently seen some pretty ugly stuff at work. People who are nice to your face but will throw you under the bus as soon as you turn your back because you mean nothing to them. It's disgusting and I'm losing faith in humanity.
