Same. I still haven't figured out so my setup is a horrible mess with nfs, rsync and a bunch of symlinks.. and no structured backup
2k bookmarks? i would just automate the process of saving each of them locally and just forget it lol. if it's somehow needed later search on the older archive

it's a bit tedious but i usually just use libreoffice/openoffice impress to annotate on a screenshot made using xv
just don't bring your daily driver phone, leave it home. carry some secondary phone you can use for camera or navigation (offline maps) or fm radio

For backup, one can simply rsync their entire home directory.NFS for shared directory, maybe syncthing to have locally synced stuff, scp for sharing files?
i use fennec f-droid and i can just go to addons.mozilla.org to install anything. not sure if its the same for official firefox though.
