Oh, for sure. I get that they need to play the optics game and I (for the most part) am happy with Plex in its current state. I definitely agree they have to walk a fine line.

However, I think it's inevitable that they'll eventually go the way of every for-profit tech company and continue to water down their platform. I'd love to move to jellyfin but my previous run with it was much less smooth on the user side than Plex is. Hopefully in time it'll be just as bug-free, but even then I'm not looking forward to onboarding all my users.

Yeah, citation needed on that one. I know they're pushing their own streaming to try to pivot toward "legitimacy", but I think we all know why the platform is so popular.

Really, the more monitors the better as far as I'm concerned. For my home desktop I just have an ultra widescreen and it's basically fine for most stuff as I functionally treat it like two monitors when doing anything outside of a game - I'd still love a second though, especially for while gaming as I miss having a wiki or whatever up in view.

For work we provide everyone with a laptop and two monitors, so that's three screens. Even the least technical of our staff love it and would hate to go back to having less screens. It's so helpful having multiple websites/spreadsheets/whatever open at once when working on anything involving comparing information.

I don't know whether or not it's true that Soros has done this, but I do know it's super weird that he's such a boogeyman to the right. He's basically synonymous with The Devil in their playbook of riling up their base.

As someone in IT I get an employer enforcing Edge (I don't do that, but I understand why an IT department might), but why would anyone enforce a specific search engine? That seems bonkers to me.

Or carrier pigeon.

Oh, I know. It just seems like they're doing it in a very advanced way in this example.
