  • Bruh...lol

I just like what I like. I knew I was gonna get shit for chatting about it.

  • I'm not saying it can't, but the attack surface is significantly reduced.

  • Yeah, same for me. I have an android also. But I don't put corporate data on that, it's to test various scenarios or using a very specific app for field tasks.

  • Right but in my line of business I don't want it to even be possible. I already made my choice purchasing an iPhone knowing full well I'm locked into the AppStore and my MDM catalog. If I can sideload so can a nefarious actor.

  • It's funny, I buy Apple products specifically so that that I can't side load apps. At work we MDM and Apple's approach isn't for everyone, but forcing something like side loading simply isn't the right choice for all types of users.

I'm all for encouraging them to be on the right side of Right-to-Repair, labor laws, and environmental best practices. But I left the world of side-loading and customization for the iPhone's tight lockdowns. At first I still couldn't help myself but to jail-break my first iPhone or two, then I stoped that also.

  • My goodness bro, have you gotten it to go anything like the promo videos? Word always says "I'm still learning", Copilot Chat will hit and miss finding files and documents, and any links from a response involving web searches are replaced with the text "An external link was removed to protect your privacy." The Edge sidebar Copilot now has my company logo and can no longer "see" what I'm browsing. Before my user was licensed the Edge Copilot sidebar was different, the free version I suppose, and could do much more, just not browse my corporate files.

Edit: For example; the Word demo video in this link under business can't be done. I have nearly this exact use case. I can get it to draft a proposal, with various results, based on a QuickBooks estimate, but the part where you then tell Copilot to modify the formatting isn't the same as the video, with a Copilot button in the same dialog window as the Keep It button. And when you then summon Copilot from the side bar, you can't even invoke the file reference action to make it change formatting and layout.

  • Proud Apple fanboy here, and I'd love to read your review!

Screw the haters, you like what you like, and what works for you. I'd love to hear from the prospective of an Arch user.

  • The prisoners with jobs...

  • Okay gotcha. Yeah I just thought I missed a new headline or something.

  • Okay gotcha. Thought maybe there was a headline I missed.

  • Actually on second thought, let's just give him a marble notebook and crayons and tell him that's JavaScript.

  • Ah, that could be problematic

  • Ah yes I remember that. I thought maybe there was something new he was going on about specifically.

  • Oh. This post's image has him talking types in January and the "obligatory" image above has someone saying he's been talking software in December, so I thought maybe Musk has been spewing about software for a few weeks or something.

  • Even in untyped can't you explicitly set your type either with declarations or wrapping the value in quotes for a string or something?

  • See I get what you were doing there, it was funny. But the downvotes thought you were putting down the thread jokes for real. You were basically pointing out that the best jokes are actual life.
