  • Okay I kinda get it if you regularly write scripts or configs on headless machines, though even then I'd think using just vscode remote development plugin would be my tool of choice.

Usually I use nano if I just need to do a quick change to a file, or even on my personal device if it requires sudo (such as apt sources or fstab) and I do it just once so don't bother thinking how to use sed for it

  • As others have mentioned, DNS is probably your worst enemy. It doesn't take much technical knowledge to just create a DNS server and start logging all domains you're accessing. Say, to tell mom how often you're browsing porn or something.

Manually configuring DNS servers in your OS would resolve this issue, but also using VPN like mullivad would just bypass such worries with 99% certainty.

Or just keep using mobile data, because why not

  • Asshole design is asshole design. They're essentially saying here that they'll sell your data whatever you choose, opting out is not an option.

Obviously there's easy ways to bypass this but it's not an excuse for them

Edit: also, their "cookie (and data sharing ) policy":

Clicking on "accept cookies" you're agreeing WAY more than implied

  • You could also replace "skinny" with young here. I was skinny and athletic when I was young, and now I'm slightly overweighted less athletic working WAY more to keep down my weight and health good and damn I'd be so happy to be able to chuck down a kebab a day still 😭
