Higher mortality rate generally means lower transmission since the infected don't live long enough to pass it along. If it mutates to be less fatal then I'll be more worried.

I wonder if there's an overlap with COVID affected species. Is it possible for COVID to have made mammalian species more susceptible to illness?

This wouldn't be much of an issue if they didn't regularly abuse their admin/mod status to censor and silence people who dissent with their political beliefs and for example, post things critical of China, Russia, the USSR, socialism, ...

So what you're essentially saying is that these moderators are effectively propagandists/state actors for China, Russia, and so on. I left Reddit to get away from psychic attacks like that, so I'm perfectly happy to defed from the instance. Glad I have the option, too.

How would a cloud OS even work? Like what would your PC boot in to?

In order to get my copy of Cyberpunk (GOG) working I ended up running GOG Galaxy via Steam and launching the game from it. Possibly the most ape brained solution to that problem, but if it works it works lol

Was a bitch for me to get HOMM3 set up. But in the end I got it working. Would certainly be more plug n play on Windows, but I don't mind a little inconvenience if it means I'm not supporting from fuckass tech bro that wants my data.

Tbh I see this as a problem. For instance, I've been considering going into politics and one of my main concerns is the security of our government's information. Right now the Americans could have a direct line of access to all of our doings simply because we use Windows. Not to mention there's the matter of Recall which, while not implemented in Windows 10, will likely be included when the government switches from Windows 10. That itself is a huge security risk. So the only options are to implement an existing Linux distro or to fork and maintain one specifically for the government. And that would be all well and good if it didn't require retraining every government employee to use Linux.

I'm not entirely certain about that. For instance, on Linux I always have to look up how to create symlinks even though I've been using the OS exclusively for three years. On Windows, it is: Right click -> Create shortcut. It's easier for most people to remember a 2 action process than a console command with multiple options and specific syntax. But of course, this is only one example and doesn't apply to everything. For instance, I have absolutely no trouble remembering mkdir, cp, or rm. I think it's a bit of a mixed bag.

The borderless UI is so good, honestly. Do you know if there's a way to alter the player control UI? Am wanting to get into ricing and that looks like it provides a great solution for some minimalist ideas I'm having.

Yeah, just OSS. Which is fine by me, frankly. In a capitalist system there are very few ways to make FOSS soft compete with closed source/proprietary. One way is to convince people to buy the soft. Another is to get industry funding. Blender is one of the best examples of this. But Grayjay can't use the Blender model because the biggest player in the industry (Youtube) has a vested interest in keeping the app from being developed.

Not sure where you're getting that from. As far as I know none of the sorceresses' familial backgrounds are explored aside from Yennefer's. Either in the Netflix show, the books, or the games. Additionally, magical ability is exceedingly rare and not confined to the nobility. The chances of the majority of the sorceresses being from noble families is extremely low.

Most sorceresses in that universe enhance their beauty/youthfulness with magic. Most sorcerers do not because they're taken more seriously as they age. It's essentially a commentary on what each gender derives power from. Yennefer is like 80 years old by the time the main story begins.

All LLMs are based on neural networks. Furthermore, all neural networks need training, regardless of whether they're an LLM or some other form of machine learning. If you want to ensure there's no stolen material used in the neural net then you have to train it yourself with material that you have the copyright to.

Really? I only ever have trouble with non-Steam games. Make sure you're setting the compatibility to Proton rather than the Linux Runtime since it often works better. I know if I try to play native Linux games I lose my cursor. Can I ask what hardware you're using?
