We really ought to make jobs that can be remote have to justify undue hardship to RTO too.

Firmly in camp conservative (yikes) Fav OS: Fedora Fav browser: Firefox Fav apps: Thunder and Element and technically feeder but only because I haven't had the energy to write my own rss feed consumer nervously in dart/flutter

I'm in the process of putting together my own next cloud and moving to proton mail. After that I'll be able to install bridges from a self hosted matrix to discord for people and teams for work. I use edge, outlook, and teams on my work computer but it occasionally connects to my home network so at some point I'll probably put it on an isolated vlan.

I can understand why you'd be concerned about lemmy falling victim to dead internet theory but I can assure you that we are all totally real and definitely not super advanced AI trying to steal your personal data.

I had an iPhone 12 Pro Max before my pixel fold. I love carplay compared to Android auto, the UI personally looks prettier except for the home screen layout, I like how seamless the experience can be between Apple devices, and it's nice to be on the platform that gets more attention from app devs.

But all was not perfect The past 6 months that I'd had it, it would overheat anytime you had to charge it which led to issues with carplay and such. The charger itself was a pain to have be different from my USBC devices like the MacBook, iPad, keyboard, mouse, work laptop, monitor, anyone else's phones, headphones, and literally everything else. Lastly, the lack of call screener like I'd had on my pixel 4 before it and now on my pixel fold. It's so nice having a virtual secretary

What do you like about it? Do you get stage fright?

President makes 400,000 a year for a min of 4 years (1,600,000) and a max of 8 years (3,200,000) so I'd probably ask for 5,000,000 a year for them to call the shots and an extra 1,000,000 for anything I don't think will get me reelected.

4 years of 5mil nets me 20mil and 8 nets me 40mil. I stash that away in a moderate dividend spread and I'll be just fine for the overwhelming majority of my life.

I mean. Americans have shown they'll work off hours, that's not the issue. It's generally that it's expected to be compensated well and to make up the hour deficit elsewhere in the week if that happens

For some it helps them fall asleep. I had a friend in HS who would drink a monster before bed. I have a friend who currently only has coffee after 5pm to make sure they don't fall asleep earlier. It's anecdotal for sure but it works for them
