Transcribro is pretty good, and available on Accrescent, but only for English (and American spelling only, at that).

According to the tests I've run, IronFox, Brave, and Tor Browser are the only options (in my opinion).

Cromite also works, as does Vanadium, but they're... basic, and the fingerprinting resistance could be better.

I use SearXNG. I would highly recommend.

Well, there are four reasons why even by modern standards that would have been a good idea.

1. The last thing you want in an army is a bunch of soldiers with withdrawal
2. A cigarette every so often is a good distraction from the horrors of war
3. Non-smokers have something to barter with
4. A mild stimulant like nicotine would be beneficial to a soldier

Oh, it just gums everything up. The fuel doesn't combust as well, and the pistons get sticky, among other things.

EDIT: I was wrong. It clogs the fuel filter, the same way sand would.
