  • Quite possibly, but we can still make it work until then.

When Bibliogram was discontinued, we all kept using the few instances left for months until they all eventually got ratelimited and shut down.

  • For example, there could be an important announcement from a content creator or business that you couldn't find elsewhere.

It's surprising how many people and places are only on one social (or antisocial) media.

  • Some people will find this useful. Yes, we should really just abandon Twitter in all its forms, but there are legitimate reasons to view its content; and if there's a way of doing so without compromising our privacy, surely that's a good thing?

  • They're still not interested. It'll take a paywall or something to get them to move on, although they're not exactly fans of AI...

  • I still have Instagram, but only because my friends do; and believe me, I've tried to get them to move over to Mastodon, to no avail.

  • I use I still don't care about cookies, which blocks the banners; and NoScript, which blocks JavaScript and other crap that would bring up the popup in the first place.

I may stop using IDCAC, however, as some other comments have shown me that I can just use an annoyances blocklist in uBO instead. The fewer extensions I have, the less fingerprintable I am, or so I'm told.

  • Once I'd tasted Linux Mint in 2019, I just gave up on Windows altogether. Linux and BSD all the way!

  • Have you tried using Proton through Steam? It's possible to load in external games and programs.

  • I wouldn't trust the Daily Mail as far as I can throw it. It's objectively the lowest quality, least factually correct, most sensationalist, and most extremely biased mainstream newspaper we have in the UK. Essentially the British equivalent of Fox News.

  • I use Vikunja, which is a self-hosted web app that can be run as a PWA.

I use tuxsudo's instance, but I believe Project Segfault also hosts it if you can't/don't want to host it yourself.

  • I would need someone to confirm that this is a good idea, but have you considered joining a Pubnix? Many of them come with email, as well as the standard web hosting and SSH.

Personally, I also rather liked Disroot before I switched to ProtonMail (which doesn't support IMAP on the free tier).

  • That's the nicest-looking IceWM setup I've ever seen. How did you do it?

Could you post your config files, if you have any?
