  • Androids best advantage used to be full control of the device... Those were the days. Then it started with saying they know better than you, then locking you out. Now I'm waiting on a new, better solution.

Honestly it's not like native Linux is too far fetched, but there would have to be a big open source common ground device collaboration.

  • True, and I mean, a lot of that seems to come from how we've handled politics in the past affecting the now. Media companies are incentivised by controversy, and everyone's opinion needs to be heard just to generate content.

It'll be interesting to see how this and other worldly things change as cable news continues to die.

As an aside, it's also funny how everyone apparently forgot all the BS Trump was doing or involved in over the four years he was in office. I remember it always being something, you know? Scandal or stupid decisions every week. I mean even know, they're calling for a door to door military search of American households like we did in Iraq and Afghanistan. Police can barely pull over Tyreek Hill without yanking him out of his car and screaming. People can't see the writing on the wall on how much violence would happen from something so massively invasive? Doesn't sound like freedom to me.

OK I'll get off my box lol.

  • Yeah, ideally it shouldn't, but IMO were in this state where we're kinda trying to play chess with a toddler that just wants juice and thinks the pieces are neat.

Taking a step back, I don't truly understand why the option is between someone who might be reasonable, and a convicted predator con artist who, at every turn, keeps demonstrating how they're more racist and incoherent than your great grandpa, but here we are.

Tldr: I agree with you, but this isn't that.

  • Unfortunately they're always chasing the next thing. I think they didn't have faith that the video game industry would stay strong and instead believed people would focus on playing mobile games. The reality is there's room for both kinds of players, but Konami knows people will always gamble. To be fair, they're still making games, but not really pushing the envelope or leading anymore.

  • Some of my favorite hits include: "immigrants are coming to steal black jobs." Also don't forget apparently he knows what it's like to be black since he's committed crimes and has gone through the "justice" system, since that's what black folks do.

  • Lol chill, it's already billed as trash food, nobody sold it as caviar. If someone wants to eat like a raccoon, for the most part, it's their God given right. No need to high horse it.

  • The fact that people pay hundreds of dollars for this OS to get advertised to is insulting. Same energy as these smart TVs that feel like they have the right to show you ads.

If I'm dictator, I'm making this shit illegal, full stop.

  • It's interesting to read the comments here. Without taking a stance, it looks like everyone has a different personal experience in terms of how fast their life circle expects them to respond digitally.

  • I loathe what part of the security community has become with the stunt hacking and vuln naming. That being said, I doubt it's some conspiracy. I don't know all the details but it wouldn't be exceptional to identify a bug that has existed in processor firmware or legacy code for a long time.

People are looking at this stuff all the time, both professionally and for fun. You could make the case that it's inevitable that there will be exploits found that affect a huge population.

In the end, as long as the layman gets smarter about computer security, the better people will react to vuln drops.
