  • Interesting aside, as I understand it, Spirit Aerosystem is the company that was ultimately contracted to repair the emergency exit door plug issue and failed to properly re-install the securing bolts when they were done.

  • Of all the reasons to be like "Windows bad, Linux good!" This one doesn't really hit.

Of all the actual differences, this is the one people think makes Linux superior? This is just a circle jerk lol.

  • Ah, it's fine. I think the important part is keeping these games runnable on modern systems. I think D2 resurrected did a pretty good job of this, and the time is right since Fallout seems to have exploded in popularity.

  • Haha right? Remember the Equifax breach? I think the security claim isn't genuine in intent, but I can believe that all else being equal, privacy violation does result in risk to security.

Even more reason to solve the underlying issues and hold companies accountable for how they handle privacy and personal information. Ideally I'd like to see the hoarding of personal data be somehow demonitized.

  • Being depressed and struggling with dating is part of the human experience. Despite popular belief, I too am a fellow human, therefore, I've experienced this as well.

I haven't really accused anyone if being an incel, just that this comic contains some of* their talking points. Everyone appears pretty passionate about this, and that's interesting, but I'm still not convinced those elements aren't in here.

    I appreciate the take though.

  • Did these folks forget the response by trained officers in Uvalde? People also tend to not realize how chaotic and unstable an active shooter situation can be, even if it's just a suspected one. Putting all that responsibility onto the teachers should make everyone, parents and teachers especially, very nervous.

  • The down votes are likely a knee jerk reaction, but it's no big deal 🙂

I agree with you, that's a better way of thinking. It's more rational to say hey, that one didn't work out but it'll be fine.

I understand though, rejection hurts, and most of us have been through that. I just think more people need to be able to brush those things off and move on, as you're saying.

  • That's not a question for me, and is beside my point.

There are people that make relationship decisions based on finances, but the idea that you asked someone out and they said "you don't make enough money" in rejection is one of those things that doesn't really happen.

More importantly, this gets tossed around by incels as reasons to view people as shallow and undeserving of respect. In reality it's likely they misunderstood the situation, or didn't think about why they themselves wouldnt be a great partner to be with.

The author is probably genuine and just wanted to make a joke, but that doesn't change that they reflected an incel idea here. That amplifies that voice, and that's what it looks like to me.

  • Whoops, having an opinion isn't a pitchfork, chill out.

Also you're correct, being female doesn't make you immune to incel culture. I should know, I've thought about it critically.

The notion that someone doesn't want to be with you because "you don't make enough money" is a common trope and is, more often than not, incorrect.

You know the saying "where there's smoke, there's fire"? I'm sure you can see smoke from that high horse.
