  • Not that I do it, but if you’re going to use the words “better source from a trusted repository”, I’m going to have to remind you to check your PKGBUILD files before you makepkg.

And I absolutely agree with you. I switched to iOS because an industry standard app for my hobby was iOS only. I’m frequently annoyed at the amount of control I have. But, like my Windows work computer, I tried to fix it with Linux: iSH.

  • I think it’s borderline acceptable for Apple, TBH.

I don’t know about windows as I don’t use the Windows Store, but I generally use my distro’s repository to install software. Only if it doesn’t exist do I go elsewhere.

I’m aware at that point that if I use the AUR, compile from source, install a deb/rpm file, it’s on me. I’m not going to blame it on my distro.

With Apple, I expect people are going to just download random ass IPAs and then blame Apple that it doesn’t work.

For most people, they should use the repository. There should be a big ass disclaimer that says, “if you opt to enable IPAs, Apple will not be responsible” blah blah blah for power users.

  • I have nothing to hide, except my alternative media sources. I also have absolutely nothing I’d like to share though.

Just because I have nothing to hide doesn’t mean I’m going to keep my front door open and let you catalogue everything I own and watch everything I do

  • I thought presidential pardons were absolute with no oversight. How can a congressman help block a pardon?

Also, can you refuse a pardon? I was also under the impression that the president signs a pardon and that’s the end of it.

I guess tomorrow will be looking for refused pardons

  • As a native speaker and someone who was once fond of langauge, I hate you.

I read your comment a million times and disagreed. I consulted a dictionary for the definition of the noun form of "good", and relectantly agreed. "Dead", "Well", and "Good" are descriptors and not states of being. They are therefore adjectives not nouns.

In the out of context and incomplete quote of Tigger, "Double Guh R". GRRRRRR GRRRRRRR

  • He’s dead -> he is in the state “dead”

He died -> In the past, he transitioned from life to death

He has died -> Prior to point of reference now, he transitioned from life to death

He had died -> Prior to point of reference in the past, he transitioned from life to death

Edit: After reading another comment about 50 times, and consulting a dictionary, there might be a slight nuance I missed.

"He's dead" may not mean "he is in the state of dead". In this case, dead is an adjective describing "he". Dead is not used in the noun form.
