  • i understand your despair. I sympathize. Still, I think it is just a question of who has the longer breath. If you read about history and look at things off the beaten path (most western countries teach history in a way that silences critical voices) you will see that things are never obviously gonna change something or everything from day one.

Online protest alone wont do anything but things are changing. Just keep on keeping on.

Btw. take a look at !anticorporate@lemmy.giftedmc.com and (for those who speak german) !antikapitalismus@lemmy.giftedmc.com for more movement stuff.

  • Interesting take! I fully agree that the whole system is an endless grift. Yes, you have to grift if you not only want to survive but be able to do literally anything else, including arguing against it. Being able to enjoy education, have a full belly, not work to the bone every day requires you to grift (to a very minor degree compared to what normies call grifters).

But of course this still doesnt mean you should not do your absolute best to spare as many people as you can while also arguing for system change as much as you can. And it of course also touches on the cognitive fallacy of asking someone for being pristine to ask for literally anything. This of course is just another trick to keep things the way they are.

  • Absolutely. People who have not been subjected to system critical education yet often have no idea what actually goes on in the world. Its sad.

  • This only shows that they are starting to take it seriously. Its a good thing thus happened. Lets the streisand effect take its toll and watch the change happen.

Btw, feel free to visit my peertube and watch some of my videos: https://peertube.giftedmc.com/videos/local

  • You're hitting the nail on the head. That and all the benefits that linux holds are the reason why i wipe windows from every computer i can get my hands on.

  • Exactly what happened.

Microsoft is deliberately making it crazy hard to use linux. We're so used to dealing with hostile relationships recently that we dont even recognize this broken situation.

Anyway, can you try installing it on separate ssd? Its rather hard to run it in dual boot because windows will frequently fuck up your bootloader and so on.

    Btw bitlocker is the encryption.

  • I can see where you're going with this. And yes you might be overthinking but i wont blame you.

The issue currently is that the world is kinda spinning freely and kind of disintegrates. Democracy is in chaotic flight mode in many places.

You can of course make any community you like on any instance you like, generally. You should read the rules beforehand and then decide if you and your community fit on there. Some instances are tech only but most should be quite open to new ideas.

By "centrist" i meant "mainstream" which in the real world means right wing atm. At least in my opinion. On lemmy, you do have a general tilt towards the left which I view as very good but things like discussing new ideas away from capitalism or discussing history off the mainstream thoughts is more a niche thing that would probably get you dogpiled on on world for example.

    In any case, good luck.

  • There you have it. Changed my comment to not include your text.

You really need help. Not because i hate your or something but because you would profit from a coherent thought framework that helps you think logically without the need for constant violence.

    Good luck

  • Not sure I understand. You'll never see all of it except if you host your own. In that case you'll see things that might change your perspective on things.

Again, you can jave centrist with more or less blocking of radical views, radical with blocking of centrist views or you can diy. I dont know of amy places that really show an accurate picture because i think it is naive to think that this exists.

  • If you're serious with lemmy I'd suggest hosting your own instance. Either by renting a server or getting someone to do it for you and paying them for the server. I guess if you give someone 10 $ a month they should be able to spin something up for you. 20 $ would be max I'd invest.

Otherwise, its important what you want to see. Tchncs is pretty nice from a "centrist" perspective. Slrpnk is rather interesting but i cant really judge their content. You could jump in the deep end and check out ml, grad or hex. Or you go full horseshoe on truth social. You get it all. I think there even are lets say liberal places in terms of age. Disgusting imo but who am I to judge.

  • Well, actually that is pretty much what you learn in history class. Its just not true. If you read anything about communism that is not western education, you get an accurate picture. Marx for example.

The idea of communism (and anarchism btw) is to have a classless, stateless society. Both are left wing extremists and incredibly dangerous in their constant, violent fight for human rights, equality and against discrimination. (/s)

Jokes aside. Especially german government owned media and state documentation portrays both as dangerous which is hilarious.

  • Greenpeace isnt even mainly focused on meat production afaik so no idea where you got that from but its not from then that we get information. You can see this on state tv. I dont know what your point is but i dont think you can prove that.

I know that logical thinking is optional but please go touch grass. Reported.

  • But they all do occur.

  • It is not. Eating meat is actually a torture and murder industry and people who eat meat are actually eating pieces of corpses.

Even when I still ate meat, I could understand that morally there is no difference to eating humans.

  • In that case i very much suggest a different approach.

"If that is your take, you will love veganism."

Btw, i dont eat animal products. Pretty recently too.

  • Exactly. Not communist though, fascist. Communism is something entirely different.

But its also clear that this happened because to thrive in the capitalfascist system, you need to adhere to the rules:

    • strong hierarchy
    • ideologically homogenous
    • strictly controlled ingress
    • constant fear of being excluded
    • pushing individualism and competition

Its the same everywhere and it is scary.

  • Good idea. I'll check it out myself.

In strong opposition to "left wing extremism is as bad as right wing extremism" western propaganda and thought stopping clichés are absolutely as bad as chinese ones if not worse.

The difference is, everyone knows that china oppresses criticism, while people say that their capitalfascist "democracies" would somehow be better.

Capitalism needs to go, first and foremost.

  • Oh yeah. So i cant ask for one thing and not do another. Classic bad faith argument. Good try.
