  • And pretty sure its also discrediting the protests. That what they do in germany. It's never pictured as something good, which it often is and if it is violent, it is condemned, which also discredits it.

We live in democracies but voting seldom counts, protesting, even in the millions doesnt change shit.

In that case we have no other choice. We gave a fair warning.

  • I don't know about the algorithm but the app could be able to read the contents and open them up to scrutiny by meta. I wouldnt put it beyond them, especially since the signal app is open source and whatsapp isnt so we wouldnt know.

  • We'll have to agree to disagree then. My hype argument perfectly matches your point of people wrongly perceiving llms as ai but my point goes further.

AI is a search engine on steroids with all the drawbacks. It produces no more accurate results, has no more information, does not do anything else but take the research effort away which is proven to make people dumber. More importantly, llms gobble up energy like crazy and need rare ressources which are taken from exploited countries. In addition to that, they are a privacy nightmare and proven to systematically harm small creators due to breach of intellectual property, which is especially brutal for them.

So no, there is no redeeming qualities in llms in their current form. They should be outlawed immediately and at most, locally used in specific cases.

  • Perfect description of your behavior.

Anti union actor who tries to turn it around on those telling others to take the leap in good faith.

People who try to undermine the fight against oppression are the enemy, willfully or not.

    Join us or stand aside.

  • What I meant to say is that the totalitarian part comes from our brain doing value judgements.

    Totalitarian comes from wikipedia:

A system of government where the people have virtually no authority and the state wields absolute control of every aspect of the country, socially, financially and politically.

This has nothing to do with value judgement. To say totalitarian is good or bad is a value judgement.

If it wouldn't, Capitalism wouldn't work.

Capitalism doesnt work. It consumes itself.

Capitalism is a reflection of our mind

Sorry but I'm at the point where this is becoming very hard to take serious. Capitalism came from feudalism whete we already had massive wealth accumulation of wealth and slavery. You're mixing up nature with nurture.

If that makes Capitalism inevitable, could it be that we need more instead of less Capitalism for a better society?

That would be anarcho capitalism. The fascists wet dream. Of course this would make a "better" society for the owner class but you would suffer and die at work while they sniff cocaine off someones butt.

Neoliberalist takes will always lead to more inequality, more suffering and more monopolies. Look at the US. They have more capitalism now. They're dying like flies, outlawing books that picture the dystopian fresh hell they're building and pushing so much anti trans propaganda that goebbels would be envious.

  • Now you're mixing trade and capitalism. Trade is much older than capitalism and is also part of the massive majority of non capitalist states and groups.

    Capital doesn’t crush families.

Ask americans who are right now losing their families due to capital interests (e.g. health insurance)

Why should capital try to crush cooperating people who don’t oppose capital itself?

It doesnt, necessarily. It absorbs them, makes them profitable, etc. It corrupts everything by making it part of profit generation. E.g. Nelson Mandela. It changes the narrative to paint them as friends when the same people today would be killed as terrorists.

It only crushes those which will not let themselves be absorbed. Those who through systemic and continuous effort shield themselves from capitalist influence. It discredits them, brands them as enemies, openly lies about them and uses the nation states to back it up.

State propaganda is real in every country on earth. We're living under the totalitarian rule of capital.

  • I am not familiar with that particular situation but I'm absolutely sure that the answer lies in exploitation, oppression and manipulation. Everything can be traced back to it in capitalism.

And I suggest that it does not matter anymore who is the most cooperative group because you have all encompassing totalitarian rule of capital. You could think of a much better system and be discredited by the capital owned media, jailed by the capital owned nationstates, etc.

  • How to change human nature?

you mean the neoliberalist take of social darwinism. thats debunked. people are born good and empathetic. even evolution has not happened as capitalists like to picture it. not the strongest individuum has prevailed but the most kooperative group.

People could stop being pawns and redefine the game but they don’t do it.

The next neoliberalist take of individualizing systemic problems. people have zero real influence on their lives. there are also very few countries that even have a semblance of democracy. even in germany, people are so manipulated that they obviously decide against their own self interest.

The best that I can imagine is that those who don’t like capitalism create their own island, kind of like the situation in brave new world.

That is currently being done. Many places are building horizontal, base democratic communities. It also has been done many times over, but capitalist countries have destroyed a lot of them. Sometimes killing the people involved.

The western countries are in a very precarious situation in terms of democracy. Capitalism is ultimately a fascist system (absolutist hierarchies, eviction of the weak, darwinism) and will always lead to fascism if unrestrained.

Some ideas of people are either solely worker owned companies, full blown democratic socialism or base democracy with federation. All promising concepts.

  • Although i agree with the general idea, AI (as in llms) is a pipe dream. Its a non product, another digital product that hypes investors up and produces "value" instead of value.

  • From my current pov, there is no good life, hell not any life on this planet in the future, under capitlism.

The infinite extraction of profit needs to go.

That is what I mean by burn the board. Because the idea that the pawns are only able to run towards the enemy in the hope of becoming a queen (which is the epitome of the carrot on a stick) is just sick.

  • As someone who actually works in a security conscious environment, there is no and never will be perfect security. All you can do is layers.

Think of it as two perpetually competing things: effort and motivaion. One is your security, the other is how valuable your data is for hackers, companies or an overmilitarized government (eg any developed nation).

If you're dealing in highly illegal stuff, you will likely get all the attention, which you'd need to be paranoid about. In our current politics its fair to say being for human rights can come near that soon. In average circumstances, only data brokers and other capitalists will try to attach to your data which in turn leak it to the government without a warrant btw.

Security layers work like this: you build individual layers of independent security measures which might be breached but only reveal the next layer which slows down any attacker. Think front door, room door, safe. The important detail is that you don't put all the keys under the front door mat.

Example: you should (obviously) not post your address, bank account, email, etc on the public web. Its not much but doing that you would absolutely not need to care because you're already sharing it for free and will likely be ruined soon.

Then you might want to be selective of your tools. Messaging, data storage (ie cloud), AI, social media. Posting pictures of you and your family on vacation or at home for everyone to see is just asking for brokers to gobble it up.

In private messaging, the word private is very relative. On certain phones, the phone itself reads your screen and tries to suggest things based on the messages you write. On that base, you really dont need to bother about anything other than the script kiddie on the starbucks wifi. You can bet that the phone will share that info if you let it.

So if you need actual privacy because you might say something that isnt exactly legal but not highly illegal as to warrant busting down your door: you might want to switch OSs first on both your phone and computers. It's not perfect but running mint and lineageos (or graphene) you at least dont have the monopolist on data collection directly embedded in your phone. Apples ios does read your screen last i checked so they're out if you want privacy.

Then you can bother about a messaging app. Meta is out. Forget it. Signal is what most people with privacy needs use since it is easy, open source, provided by a nonprofit. The biggest issues are that it is centralized so technically they could be taken down or maybe implement a backdoored encryption. But at that point most efforts will be for naught so lets assume that is not the case for now.

People with technical interests use matrix, which is also used by the german military, decentralized and rather popular in some countries. It's not perfect either since the metadata still leak afaik which means someone can try to identify you and guess your texts in some cases. But of course it is insanely different from whatsapp in terms of control and probability of a breach through meta.

You can use a variety of other messaging apps like simplex chat or even decentralized wireless communication like meshtastic. Its literally impossible to know all the different avenues you can take. So that at least makes it fucking complicated to get all your data, provided you dont back it up on icloud or google. You can even route your messages through hybrid networks of wireless and wired networks if you wish.

Then of course you can pack it all inside a vpn which will depend on your strategy and maybe vendor. Just vpning home helps to make your messages very hard to decrypt at the starbucks but if someone listens on your isp, they can still see who you might be communicating with.

Then there is the matter of google services and push notifications. If you want real privacy, you dont use google services at all and either a privacy concious provider or even nothing. That would mean no outside notifications and only regular or manual checks.

  • I had to check where I had seen your name before. :)

    I say burn the board.

  • keeps committing genocide

    1. Can you prove that?
    2. Have you bothered to check out anything else about china?
  • It was never gonna work out forever. Capitalism is really young and has never really been sustainable.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble. We're all just pawns for the capitalists.

  • You're in for a bad surprise. Especially living in so called democracies, we are not asked an neither are the people who are killed by them. We're being silenced just as much.

I'm not defending anyones image. I just dont like blanket statements. I'm currently fighting fascists in the country i live in and people are being executed. Its not cool.

  • I read that and I am aware that this has happened. I never said it didnt happen, neither did I say that it is somehow not horrendous. I'm asking you to think about the elephant in the room: horrendous things are done regularly by most developed countries. Why is china the big bad? I'm okay to learn something new, how about you?

  • Why then even say something? The other person was dealing in bad faith themselves. I pointed out in good faith that it is okay to criticize china but its not okay to reduce someone solely on their former deeds. Its the same as calling germany a nazi shithole (but that is becoming increasingly true) today just because of the holocaust.

I blocked them because they were repeating themselves and being condescending, which i encourage everyone to do because debate isnt just being right but also being fair.

  • Its totally okay to criticise crimes against humanity, as I said. But china hate is not rooted in reality. They did wrong, as did everyone else.

  • Feel free to elaborate.
