  • Used to run a whole small highschool on Linux Mint, worked pretty well.

  • Interesting concept. There's https://github.com/AsamK/signal-cli which specifically allows piping messages from Signal to another process, but at a glance its not clear if it allows for that with audio calls.

  • This seems to be the only source for this information, while on the other hand I'm seeing this;

    Wired: A Signal Update Fends Off a Phishing Technique Used in Russian Espionage

    Google warns that hackers tied to Russia are tricking Ukrainian soldiers with fake QR codes for Signal group invites that let spies steal their messages. Signal has pushed out new safeguards.

  • True. It's good to be in league with notable Democratic People's Republics!

  • You seem surprisingly certain you will be able to vote.

  • In a way jt is fascinating to watch the US goverment dismantle their empire on fast forward. With this single "conversation" they undermined every security deal they had anywhere in the world.

    Wonder if some hardliners from CIA or such will decide to sort out this threat to their power, or will they just accept going down.

  • As far as I agree generally its a term also used in Poland. It regained popularity due to the far right using it to stigmatize anything loosely associated with left wing values, but it was actually coined... by the communist regime apparatchiks to mark out dissenters. There's a pretty interesting Polish book on the term itself. BTW Polish radio is a state owned media.

  • Oh, anyone reads these? Thats all the motivation I needed to keep the neverending flames going!

  • Dunno about locking, but please don't use Riseup for torrents, unless you support them heavilly. Its an activist resource.

  • You acting out your Polonofobia again?

  • Microsoft Sharepoint has a Wiki. The Wiki can not generate a table of content.

  • AFAIR the official app doesen't have a lot of the web-gui functionality. No idea about the other ones, since my browser works just fine.

  • Brool story co.

  • Fun fact IIRC; the term was coined by anarchists in France after the word "anarchist" got banned in press.

  • Is that the yearly Europe will freeze without Russian gas event?

    Most of this pathetic fearmongering, based on the terror of a cold spell in the middle of winter is just fun geopolitical fiction. We can all imagine EU has no gas reserves suddenly, or ended last two winters with 80% capacity just for fun. In this world Ukraine that did not signal their plans for the last two years, apparently just did so to sabotage its backers, the goofy trolls they are. Jamal and Turkstream pipelines had just disappeared, as such installations do, to which this energy "expert" could surly attest. In the meantime LNG technology has been rightfully forgotten. And so if EU wanted to buy Russian gas it cant for the wretched Ukraine forbids it... Obviously issues like the fact Russia shut down Nordstream before it had it's smoking incident should not concern us. There was not a single decade of gas blackmail of any of these soon frostpunk-turned states. Winter is a brand new concept in this part of Europe, and no one ever considered its strategic implications here, that is before the author of this thin-piece.

    But the detachment from reality trophy is won by the claim of marvelous straight up climate denial;

    Europe has seen consistently colder temperatures on average since 2016.

    Honestly it's hard to even make fun of such utter bullshit. Where does that even come from?

    Global mean temperature between 2013 and 2023 was 1.19 to 1.22°C warmer than the pre-industrial level, which makes it the warmest decade on record. European land temperatures have increased even faster over the same period by 2.12 to 2.19°C, depending on the dataset used.

  • Ben Hetar was also responsible for the area of sexual offenses. "Unfortunately, it will be very difficult to prove these offenses," she says. "In the end, we have no complainants. What was presented in the media compared to what will ultimately emerge will be completely different. Either because the victims were murdered, or because the women who [were] raped are not prepared to reveal it. We contacted women's rights organizations and asked for cooperation. They told us that they simply did not contact them. There were parents who contacted the organizations and asked what to do if something happened to their daughter, but they did not disclose the abuse

  • Partially. From what I've read most of current android is proprietary, and the the open source part is behind by a lot. Usual evil Google way.

  • Until you work with anything that might be of interest to Russian services (Ukrainian refugees in EU in my case).
